Trades 2026 Round 4 Fantasy Trades

Why are we getting so caught up about ROB. McAndrew as a joint ruck is still the equivalent of any other rookie scoring 50's and 60's. I don't trust that ROB will stand up to the game, while he has beaten up in the two's, I suspect he will find himself quickly out again. With Best 18 still this week, I think you can afford to wait and see if the ROB thing sticks.
That’s a good point.

Would be more inherently risky if it was a Best 22 week.

But in saying that, you save yourself a future upgrade bringing in Max/English/Grundy this week

Only if ROB continues to play, or if McAndrew is severly limited in scoring.

Both of which aren't certain.

Yeah that’s the tough thing.

I mentioned before if McAndrew doesn’t get dropped (which won’t happen touchwood) you probably still could run him R2 and get a mega mid reinforcement in.

Or you could get a workaround and get ahead and get that premo ruck in

For the moment I’m still sticking with my DC to English
Dovaston to Steene trade for the time being

Trading a ruck in now or later is still spending 1 trade on a ruck. Id rather wait.

Worst case scenario is rob stays. Mcandrew gets dropped next week (or we're confident he's reduced to a 50's guy). In which case my options will be limited with no cash in bank. Id have to side ways a premo.

But odds of that are low. Even if that happened. Chances are id have an injured or suspended premo to deal with and Id just swap them to a ruck.

ROB coming in means a high chance of McAndrew returning a very middling score which could hurt his cash gen. If it’s for multiple weeks it could wreck it.

He has not yet made enough money to easily turn him into a premo (I know some people are hoarding ridiculous money but I am not one of them) so you would likely have to find a stepping stone player first which can be harder with rucks. So potentially two trades to fix.

By bringing in Gawn this week (for my other failed pick in DC) I can leave McAndrew as R3 and if his cash gen does get wrecked I can just cash him in.

That’s my thought process anyway.

Exactly. Much easier to upgrade every other position down the line than a ruck, so easier to save the stress and get one of the big three (Max/English/Grundy) this week

2 final fix up trades before best 22 next week? Thinking of Cameron to Grundy (nearly same price atm), and Windy to Steele/Dunkley.

Grundy and not Gawnglish?

Yep, this is it; I think it's only an issue if you have DC who is a must-trade and will drop coin rapidly with that huge B/E.

Not convinced any of the other ruck options are worth selecting, (including Steene who could easily lose his spot or put up a 30 on any given week to kill his cash gen) so just going straight to Max even though he's overpriced for what he'll deliver from now till his bye.

Nick Bryan was my sneaky alternate pick but the ROB news means I can't 100% rely on McAndrew at R2 till Bryan is back so can't go there.

Dammit. Had easy trades of Visentini to Steene and Carrol to Kerch leaving a war chest to target GWS players off the bye but the ROB news makes we wonder if I should just take Visentini up to Grundy (which was partly the reason I went with Visentini in the first place - to have a midpricer Ruck I could take up if/when this issue came up)

Grrr

Think I've settled on Rachele and McKercher as my ins, and will back them to be close to Top 6 and solid scorers to take me to the byes.
Means no Bont, but the following team which I am happy with (for this week at least)

$160k into next week

Can loop this week with Sinclair, Murdock and Flanders.

Heading into Best 22's again next week with 5 rookies on field (down from the 6 i started with).
Jaques, J.Smith, Grlj, McAndrew, Robertson/Cook

But quite a few mid-pricers who I will be relying on to maintain form
Houston, McKercher, Windsor, Bruhn, Rachele, M.Reid, Budarick

Think I'll go this way, was going Milera > Farrow & Parish > Bont. It'll be the last time for a while that the funds will be there for English so might as well take the plunge now and move McAndrew to R3. Steene instead of Farrow gives me 22 playing although probably won't need Steene's score but ya never know, his BE is a tad lower than Farrow's who will come in next week anyway.

Had to rethink this

Gawn is just clearly no.1, and I'd rather him than Steele. If I get Gawn, can only afford a ~960k mid, and there's nobody I like

Going Carroll -> Farrow to make that little bit of cash for next week

Nice team!

I'm doing the same re the McKerch-Rach combo meal this week. I'm slightly lighter on the midpricer front (no Windsor or Reid) so be fielding an extra rook or two over the next few weeks.

This is a great team

Gonna have a look at McAndrew this week before making a move, hiding behind best 18. If it's purely a one week play with ROB, just to go against Jackson and Darcy, it's not worth making the move yet I think.
If ROB stays in next week for a best 22 week, then we have a problem.

Having DC makes it hard to give McAndrew a week at R2

Can go DC > Steene but then if RoB gets selected again would need to trade McAndrew and likely miss out on some cash gen.

Other option is to hold DC, but I just don’t think I can given what we saw last week.

Probably just rip the band-aid off and go DC > Gawn and keep McAndrew R3

This is where I’ve landed too. DC > Gawn, Blakiston > McKercher, I miss Naicos for another week but do thing a solid chance the lions tag him anyway.

Yeah I’m doing the same, reckon this is absolutely the right play except maybe for those with Darcy Cameron who don’t want a second ruck headache.

Me being one of those DC owners. Mission Get Bont was almost a success.

Bringing English in probably is less stressful ruck wise as I already have Max

Could be setting myself back by not upgrading this week but after starting Sharp, Lombard, Gallop, + Marshall & Dev Rob missing games I'm just gonna restart some cash gen.

Steene arrives at a decent time to offload Todd Marshall as I can then keep McAndrew R3 til he is ripe for trading out.

Sharp is basically at his starting price. This is only acceptable for D8 at best so I might go up to Watkins, Farrow or Duursma.

Just wonder if it's worth giving Sharp a bit longer. Fully expected him to be a slow burn but the above 3 are $100k over 2 to 3 week plays.

Started Grundy/Jackson and whilst I'd accept a 30 from Grundy this week for a WCE win, he really needs to return to form soon.

After not owning him at all last year, he's really not in my good books.
