Whilst confidence and belief in the group to date is justified, the cold reality is we still give up substantial leads each week, and seem to constantly cop four-six goals in a row.

The difference since the opening round is that we have had the maturity to then bounce back or hold when it has mattered.

Safe ins and outs
Scrimshaw edges perez
Finn earns his reward
Morrison and Dalton not good enough yet.
TB not rested

If our pressure is off or we fall asleep it will be tight.

We need the momentum heading to Perth.

That's the strongest looking Hawks team I have seen in a long time (just need Chol and Day back).

All things being even given the Pies outs we should give them a right touch up tomorrow night 💪
Honestly Chol and Dear are about even at the moment as I think Dear both younger and imo more talented. Had a really good game v Port so could look to hold Chol out.

Structurally Perez will wanna return as he made the backline look even better but if Scrim can be at his best it’ll be tough.

Day back and it’s best 23.

Great spot to be in with super depth.

Soooo, no Schubert in for….. well hard to say, never got that answered

For the Pies

OUTS
Tim Membrey Scott Pendlebury Jeremy Howe Beau McCreery

INS
Wil Parker Ned Long Jack Buller Darcy Moore

Solid team, did think TB might get a rest but shows what I know. Outside of Day and Chol the only complaint you could have is about balance, but we have no excuse to not expect a good showing

I’m not scared of the mozz, we are going to demolish Collingwood. Pendles will play his milestone with the VFL boys because of the PTSD on the team we are about to cause.

Come at me… I’m also ready for a good cry.
Please tell me you didn't write this about GWS in opening round too

Yeah can’t stand posters who have the game won midweek. If the players take them lightly they’ll get smoked. I can’t help but think we weren’t expecting Port to play like they did againast us a few weeks ago. Pies play a great system which means they don’t necessarily need the best list to be in games. They’ll provide a challenge and we need to expect their best.

Pies may have struggled to score lately, but Champion Data has that as their only weaker point of their game.

Their defence and organisation as a team is top notch. The key battle will be ruck - if we can keep that even, that will help keep Daicos quieter.

Will be a good match - hope the boys come out like they have the last few weeks and keep their tackle pressure up.

My main concern is that we don't come in as fired up as we have been the last three weeks. If we don't have our pressure we won't make it work.
I reckon the bake Sam gave at half time and the fact that we allowed another oppo run on will almost guarantee there won't be any complacency for this game. You can imagine how often that got mentioned in the inner sanctum this week. Add 80,000 fans and I'd be surprised if we aren't switched on.

The last time I was very confident we would win was about 2 weeks ago. On paper with in the ins and outs for both sides we should absolutely be winning, but bloody hell.. some people are already talking like we have won the game. That is an incredibly stupid and naive attitude to have. Any talk of % boots or any of that crap is disrespectful.. I just hope we are switched on and go out and do our thing.. a 4 quarter effort and maybe not surrendering a nice lead would be a start.

we said the same about GWS, but that didn't work out.

Any team can win if they up at their top level and the other is off a touch. It isn't won until it is won.
