Clarke and Smillie won’t play this year. Better take 2 picks.
I am very understanding we shouldn’t read much into Serpell’s comments or the injury report but it appears Clarke isn’t to far from full training. He raptured his ACL on Kings Birthday weekend last year so he’s already been out for close to a year.

I’d very much doubt the club would then put him on the long term injury list and rule him out for the rest of the year.

Hibbins-Hargreaves is still only 18, turns 19 in November, looks to be playing okay in the WAFL, dedinetely worth a look at, especially if we take 2 picks.
I think we'd have to take him with our first pick.
Someone will throw him a lifeline before our 2nd pick if we had one.

I wish you could just delist players midseason if you've got the cap room to pay them out.

Sonsie is pretty much guaranteed to be cut, so why can't we just cut him now provided we pay him? They do it with coaches every year.

There was a reason why he was passes up in both the drafts
He is playing WAFL and we have Sam Cousens out west who is very good eyes for Richmond there
lets see if he did improve on his issue's

What would be better is having more rookie spots that can be developed in the VFL and if they perform well, they can be elevated and players that perform badly can be demoted like the G league in the NBA

Have a limit on how many elevations and demotions you can do in a season.

Its the MSD. Theres a reason every player was passed in the draft, so that doesn't really mean much in this context.

Consider it already pissed down the drain
With the first pick in the 2026 AFL MSD draft, Richmond has decided to pass.
Prob take some plodding VFL journeyman as well as some kid no one has heard of from VAFA div 2.

Now that Gibcus is out I hope we give El Nour a crack if we have a 2nd pick.

Our VFL blokes will just get injured.

A hbf that will be 26 before the start of next season. Gross. We better not.
You mean the age group we have a gaping chasm in and the very demographic that is preventing us being competitive?

You can pick up serviceable mature agers like Riley Bice, Tom McCarthy amd Voss every year in the ND or rookie draft if you wish. They're a dime a dozen.
Name 12.

We could do with some serviceable players.

So we can keep Trainor in the reserves?
