Got to win the last 4 on that list (or at least 3) and continue to hold up well at home.

Next week is a big one. We may need to be 6-3 as a buffer for the tough run that follows.

I still see us around that 5th-8th mark for now. GMHBA and MCG form has to fall off to send us lower.
Sydney at home for me is a huge one. We also need to hold up against Carlton as for me that is our usual danger game.. same with saints.

If we drop one of saints or Carlton and lose to Sydney I think top four is done already without even blinking at the rest.

No week's bigger than the next one, it's a simple enough philosophy. If we stuff up then hopefully we bounce back. We aren't terrible or brilliant at this stage but 5-3 isn't disastrous.

No it’s not disastrous but it’s volatile space without alot of room for slip up to get top four.

TBH I am expecting a win against pies if we are serious.

I don’t see them a genuine contender at all and we should beat them.

If we lose it says more about us than them.

I am convinced they are 6-10th territory, I am unsure of our standing atm.

Collingwood are like an old cart mule. Reliable and predictable. You know what you will get each week. Geelong are a different proposition

Nah not buying that. Brisbane have clearly been better than us. How many more times do you want them to beat us over the years to showcase that
What I'm saying is we are right up there so we should have a tough draw

24 we were every bit good enough to be premiers
Probably 25 too
Things went pear shaped at the wrong time
That's the game

It'll be our 6th game against a top 10 side from 2025 (who were much better than the rest last year). If we get out of that with 6-3, we have an okay platform.

Next 3 weeks are hard. We cant afford to drop all 3. 1-2 would be ok. 2-1 ideal.
Carlton is a danger game but they look so impotent at the moment we should be winning that. After our round 16 bye our draw is very friendly so if we can get that to that bye better than 50 % wins we should at least play finals from there.

I dont think we can win the flag this year but id love to be able to play a couple of finals and I think for our blue chip young guys it would be very valuable.

Collingwood wont challenge the flag this year. But they are good at winning clutch 4th quarters in very close games and manage that well. We want to have them beaten before then and not bomb the ball at their defence as they will eat that up.

I was very bullish on us being top four last year but this year I am not quite sure.

I think similar to last year for a flag to happen, the moon and the stars need to all align at the exact right time… like they almost did last year.

Pound for pound we weren’t in the top 4 lists talent wise in 24 or 25, but we managed our run to perfection managing players and their loads for the end of year, and it almost worked.

We need a similar scenario to pull it off this year.

I think the club is of the view we would rather end the season 15-8 and go into finals in ripping condition than bank heaps of wins early and go into the season 16-7 having lost half our games in the second part of the year.m and beaten up

Collingwood have failed to win 3 games this year that had a clutch last quarter (Adelaide, Fremantle, Hawthorn) and in another Carlton had a chance to draw after the siren. It isn't such a strength anymore.

6-3 is about where we needed to be after a fairly tough opening to the season. 5th on the ladder, 4th best percentage and only a failed close out against Hawthorn from being in a great position.

It gets even tougher from here before easing up late. GMHBA has to be a fortress and we need to play the G like we did tonight. Hopefully the GWS and Carlton monkeys get off our back this season as we probably will need those wins to be a genuine shot at top 4.

Our season is well and truly alive, anyway. We've got to win 1 of the next 2 against Brisbane (unlikely) and Sydney (50/50) to keep pace and momentum.

I'd like to think we have a good chance at doing the double over Collingwood, North Melbourne and Adelaide. Gold Coast and Brisbane at home will be crucial games.

I’ve gone into this month hoping we can go 3-1. To be fair, that should probably be the expectation if we’re serious about this year.

We just have to win one of the Brisbane or Sydney games. I don’t really care which, as long as we get it done.

After that, it’s the Blues (our bogey team, though losing to them at this point would be beyond comical) and the Crows.

Playing in Adelaide is always a challenge, but we generally play the ground well - the nightmare from two weeks ago notwithstanding.

Plus, I don’t really rate the Crows. They play a busted-arse version of Brisbane’s game plan without the midfield quality or half-back users to execute it, so their strengths don't really stretch our weaknesses.

We should win that one if we’re anything near "on," IMO. 9-4 from there, and we're set to attack the second half of the season and build into finals.

Flag or bust for me.

I know that all things being equal, we're probably not the best team in the comp if you ran every game 1000x. But we're good enough on our day, and I felt like last year's GF result was not an honest reflection of our team. We had a bunch of guys who had their worst game of the year, and Brisbane got a Cinderella run with all of their injuries magically coming good at the perfect moment.

Was very reminiscent of 2008 on gameday for me. A very good team comes up against another very good team, and a bunch of things go wrong for one team / right for the other.

Agreed, I hate the line of thinking that they’re unbeatable. We whipped them two games prior to the grand final. AFL is an unpredictable game, if we get there again anything can happen.
