So whats this campaigner actually done? We gave up over 100 to west coast… Another dud that cant coach AFL standard?

Dunno. Our team defense looks better organised this year, but we still can't get the footy out of our backline.

It would be interesting to know whose idea it was to bring Zane in, as I suspect he is being ignored. We started Daniel in defense again, that brilliant strategy is almost certainly down to Clarko against the advice of others like Zane.

He gets a tick for throwing Parker to half back
Cant really play him anywhere else. His lack of pace only gets exposed as his oppo either gets out the back or working up the ground away from goal.

The last 2 years at the swans it was obvious they were giving him less midfield minutes. He's been huge back there, suits him where he's at. He's smart enough not to let his oppo get the pill behind him, smart enough to put himself in the right spots and tough...well that never been in question at any point in his career.

Still early signs but our defensive structure looks much better. Suspect ZLJ has had some part to play in this change of game plan. Will be keen to see how the team hold up defensively in Rounds 7-11. All finals teams from 2025. It will be a strong indicator of how far we have gone towards effectively implementing a team based defence after the arrival of ZLJ.

We seem to have a distinct plan for each side we verse now and by and large the strategy or take on the opponent is correct.

We haven't always had the cattle or ability to carry it out, but the oppo scouting, analysis and preparation week to week is noticeably better imo.
Agreed. Eagles the only real outlier here and that wasn't so much gameplan as we weren't prepared for their brutality at the contest.

Eagles we had a plan that worked well as we skipped out to the lead.

Then injury to a big chess piece KPD forced a reset, they come out breathing fire after quarter time.

Then shitmen electricians a week ago have their 15 minutes, old stages suddenly feel like it is 2018 again, they start kicking them from everywhere.

It happens.
