Naz isn't worth 2 mill a year . That price wasn't market valuei t was a total beat up by the manager and other clubs . He's worth what Daicos is worth.
Port Adelaide offered that over a longer period of time lol. That’s the definition of market value.

If we paid him what he’s worth, good chance he leaves

North are us 12 months ago.

Loaded with cap room and have told every agent to get word out that they are writing cheques this off season.

Re Wilson, I don’t know him personally. I know someone who does and they seem to think winning is more important than final numbers on a contract.

So let’s see?
North are going hard at weitering. They can’t afford him and Wilson. Don’t have the trade capital

I’m guessing.

But Morris has admitted it’s $1m a season in each of 27+28.
26 is an increase as part of this deal but not that high.

I don't know how could possibly equate two 700-750k a year though. 700k a year over 3 years is 2.1 mil. 2 mil is already gone in 27 and 28. Even if his numbers for 26 were 700k, that works out to 900k per season. Or am I missing something?

800k a season would be, 400k this year.

or Tom has continued his creative reporting because he very clearly doesn't want to specify what this years cap hit is, and that's a very key component of this entire deal.

Tom just wants to make a story of the $1m a season in 27 + 28 but that is very clearly cap management in this entire deal and not the story

I think if he got a bump for this year it's highly unlikely he's on 400k.

Regardless, if he's on a mil a year for the 27 and 28, he's done extremely well for himself, given his output to date.

And the maximum amount would be if he hits all his triggers like BnF, Brownlow, AA, wins club goal kicking etc (which he wont).

Where do you get off calling people numbskulls?
The use it or lose it argument may have had some validity for this year and next but I would like to know how the long term nature of TDK's contract was explained to Wilkie and why he as an accountant couldn't accept it's validity?
Why don't you go down to the club and ask SoS, Wilkie and Lyon. if you want answers. FFS you throw darts everywhere with your straw man arguments and then get all high and mighty.

If you are incapable of following the story or are just deliberately obtuse, thats not my problem. We had 2.6 million of the SC to spend by 31st October so Windy and Wilkies contracts were easily absorbed, both now on long term contracts.

And WTF has Wilkie being an accountant in a previous life has to do with anything? He is a footballer not an accountant, and as an accountant myself the SC and the way we used it is perfectly straight forward.

As for numbskull, if the cap fits, up to you champion.

Was literally offered 2.5 million over the first two years of a long contract by Port.

For Gods sake don't mention contract triggers on here, people melt like the Witch in the Wizard of Oz.

The average salary is 500k per last years data.

They all do extremely well.

He has shown what his ceiling could look like and there is probably an element of forecasting his salary towards that. But if he was paid 700-800k I probably wouldn’t bat an eyelid now - considering the money that is now involved

We definately need a tall forward in the MSD.
Only one I can think of who could have an immediate impact is Brodie McLaughlin- Box Hill Hawks.
Could still do with another midfielder, nuggety small Stefanakis- Sandy Zebs looked good yesterday & can play forward too.
And a small backman is definately a need. One of Marcus Herbert- Geelong Vfl, Donovan Toovey- Coburg Vfl or Jackson Voss- Frankston Vfl could suffice.
Although lets hope Collard could potentially fill that role asap.

Mentioned by who--that is what worries me.
Sadly, that's going to be the only negative of a quality VFL program - you will lose plenty of players to AFL clubs.

However, if we start producing AFL players early on, that's going to make it an enticing VFL program for players to join.

This will please those fans that want to see a competitive VFL team.
