His disposals in his TOG is fine to meHe has good moments where he goes in hard but isn’t finding enough of the ball atm.

I get Levi Greenwood vibes . Maybe it’s just me .Wrote below in game day thread, but though i would repost here.
Just watched Anderson's extended highlights on the AFL app.
If he can improve his agility over the next 12 months (very possible I checked), he will be a very serious player.
We all see his aggression and attack on the ball, but has footy smarts, and underatedly very good distrubtion by both hand and foot...rarely makes an error.
Currently only playing 55% to 60% game time, if he can improve that, we could have a very dangerious 25+ disposal inside outside bull.... Closest stylistic comparison I can think off is Newcombe.
Then he either needs to get fitter to stay on the ground longer or be more impactful with the ball. Long, Anderson, Allan. It’s too many low tog, low possession, low impact players in the side. His disposals in his TOG is fine to me
I don't think Anderson belongs in that group. He is by no means low impactThen he either needs to get fitter to stay on the ground longer or be more impactful with the ball. Long, Anderson, Allan. It’s too many low tog, low possession, low impact players in the side.

He’s wins some nice possessions but he isn’t particularly damaging ball in hand nor is he particularly dangerous up forward. He’s exactly what I’d call low impact.I don't think Anderson belongs in that group. He is by no means low impact
He kicks a goal every game as a 65% mid-fwd, is 3rd on our entire team for metres gained per disposal and is 7th for scoreboard impact (scores + assists)He’s wins some nice possessions but he isn’t particularly damaging ball in hand nor is he particularly dangerous up forward. Kicking the odd goal and getting a long hacked kicked out a stoppage doesn’t mean his a high impact player. Anderson being 7th for scoreboard impact is more of an indicator of our inability to score. He kicks a goal every game as a 65% mid-fwd, is 3rd on our entire team for metres gained per disposal and is 7th for scoreboard impact (scores + assists)
I'm not sure what you're expecting. He's about 5 games in and winning some big contests on big stages. He’s wins some nice possessions but he isn’t particularly damaging ball in hand nor is he particularly dangerous up forward. He’s exactly what I’d call low impact.
He’s playing to what I expect of a first year inside mid with some AFL traits.I'm not sure what you're expecting. He's about 5 games in and winning some big contests on big stages.
This is where Swadling is the point of difference. Then he either needs to get fitter to stay on the ground longer or be more impactful with the ball. Long, Anderson, Allan. It’s too many low tog, low possession, low impact players in the side.
If you want to bury your head in the sand about his clear and obvious impact that’s fineKicking the odd goal and getting a long hacked kicked out a stoppage doesn’t mean his a high impact player. Anderson being 7th for scoreboard impact is more of an indicator of our inability to score.

+ he’s only had 1 pre-season. Allan and Long have had, what 3 or 4 pre-seasons?
While I'm not expecting him to reach Jai Newcombe levels, they play a similar style of footy and wouldn't surprise me to see him improve a lot after another pre season. The TOG% shows how damaging he could be.Hes very smart with ball in hand in the contests, very rarely turns the ball over by hand.
After another preseason I think he has a breakout 2027

I said on his debut that I think he could be as good as Sam Durham and I think that's realistic the more he plays.
Agreed. Having a willingness to be hit in a tackle is a great trait and does allow you to buy some time and space for others. Gus looks like he almost enjoys getting crunched. I love it!Dare I say it, sometimes he's Pendlebury-esque in heavy traffic... not so much in the evasiveness but his ability to set a teammate up while there's 3 blokes about to tackle him. Rather than someone like Ned Long/Lipinski who would just blindly handball forward. You can't teach that and I think it gives him the highest ceiling of our younger mids
He likes doing a bit of crunching back too.Agreed. Having a willingness to be hit in a tackle is a great trait and does allow you to buy some time and space for others. Gus looks like he almost enjoys getting crunched. I love it!
He can only get better the more exposure he has, looking forward to watching him develop. He likes doing a bit of crunching back too.
A cult hero in the making.
