I was at the South game and don’t recall any apologies nor did I hear any untoward comments other than some words post an on field incident which can usually occur.I think most committees try there best to pull it into line.
This year, we had a bit of an issue with Centrals & there President handled it well.
Against Souths, not sure if committee or president but someone came over to the coaches box during the game & apologised for a comment that was made.
On the weekend I did see a couple of our committee members go over to the boys on the hill and was chatting to them and also seen one of the diggers runners chatting to one of there spectators for comments being made to one of our players.
Nothing wrong with a bit of friendly banter but when you walk around the ground you hear a lot of very average comments.
Great to hear the Diggers runner doing that. As mentioned I find Diggers to be a well run club that make visitors feel welcome.
The stuff I don’t like is when younger people sitting in cars getting drunk a bit drunk and carry on for absolutely no reason other than being stupid weak individuals who believe they are protected by the fence. As said they never go into rooms post games and if some player or spectator approaches them most of them would run off or cry foul. It could get really nasty one day and all because of a few clowns. Presidents committees etc know who they are yet they mostly do stuff all unless a complaint is made so they act after the fact. That’s going to be to late and yes I blame the clubs as they can see it early and some encourage it, until it’s called out.
