Looking at his stats over his 4 years at the cats VFL and he’s pretty much stayed on 7-11 touches a game, not really a standout in any way.

EL Nour a level above.

I rate El Nour but he’s not exactly a stopper of goals either
He is more of an interceptor like Balta who plays best free to read the ball

We have a few of that type already so getting an actual stopper makes sense because we lack guys who can lock down someone and do a job

Am I right he's more of a lockdown KPD and so more of a replacement for Balta/Young than Gibcus? Whereas El Nour is closer to an interceptor.

I think it's more common to bring in a top lockdown defender as a rookie than an interceptor, the latter often go pretty high in the national draft if they're good. We need a reliable man to help Miller down there (since Young left).

My thoughts exactly
Don’t need to be fancy to do a job just need that discipline and body to back it up

We don’t really have any proper old school defenders now that Young moved on so it will be nice to get one again

Good luck to Kye, everyone talks about the MSD being a free swing, so we've got nothing to lose by giving the kid a shot. If he pans out great, if not then so be it. Happy to wait and see how he plays a few games before passing judgement.

Stat comparing a 200cm full back with an 192cm intercepting defender is brain dead. Come on mate

Brain dead, ouch. If you use your “brain” you’d realise I was comparing them as defenders. Height is irrelevant. Take the better player.

He’s 1 of the best 1v1 in the VFL. Grimes was the same height. Anyway I’m not dying on this hill I can just see his composure and that he rarely loses a contest.
