Are Cats the worst losers in AFL?

That goal non decision was horrendous.
We the supporters have been told to accept goal line technology and last night was probably the easiest decision you could hope to get.
If that happens in the last 2 minutes of a final then I'd personally burn the grandstand down.
The AFL can't even offer a good excuse.
The 50 meter penalty that gifted Jack Henry a goal is just as horrendous though. What comes around goes around.

I generally enjoy listening to Chris Scott speak because he’s usually measured, articulate, and well-spoken which are qualities that are surprisingly rare among football coaches and media personalities.

That said, I thought he seemed quite rattled in his post-match press conference. What stood out was that he voluntarily raised the Dempsey goal as a “howler,” then spent the next five minutes dancing around the issue without explicitly saying he felt it impacted his team. I felt that came across in poor taste.

I also thought he was a little snarky when it came to giving us credit for the win, which is unusual for him. He initially acknowledged that we were stronger in the contest, but when pressed to elaborate, he became noticeably defensive.

Cos he was out coached, ungracious

To be fair, I only listen to him when he plays us or occasionally when his team has a loss (just to watch him be snarky) so I guess my views are not wholistic.
I just find him so arrogant and contemptuous.
As I said before though, the quality ( or lack of quality) of media questions during post match interviews is astounding.

If the media was not so driven to squeeze out a quick grab headline and a bit of juicy controversy and focussed more on the actual game, everyone, including the game itself, would be better off.

Let me start by saying I am an unabashed Chris Scott fan. If Wright/Davies arent at least asking his management the question of his availability they are derelict in their duty.
I think Scott behaves publicly exactly how we sometimes say our coaches should. He criticises the AFL when needed and staunchly defends his players and his club. What's wrong with that? As an elder statesman of the comp, make no mistake the AFL listen.
As for Friday, that call was a howler, what's wrong with calling it out.
Would it have change the result? No because 1. the the game would have been different and 2. It occurred at the very start of the game.

And yep...I've admired him as coach and also enjoyed his thoughts at times.
I think losing brings out the competitive, sulky 12yo little Chris.
An area he could get to work on for sure.😂

His his fake surprise at the Cats recent record against us tells me he was filthy.

Before the game it would have been “Every year for three years this busted arse team of scrubbers and ball butchers gets up and beats us, usually easily. Well it won’t happen this year!!!”

Guess what Chris? You blew it again.

Colleague at work was relentless.
NOt sure best approach on Monday.🤔
Ideas most welcome.

So I think I'll say nothing and give a pleasant 'good morning'. If I get a 'good game' or anything at all related, will be pleasant and general. Like 'what a game!' If she looks sour or refers to goalgate, I 'll agree with her.
Go the gracious high road methinks.😃

The idea we just randomly come up for their games doesn’t really hold up to scrutiny. We were a finals team in 2023 and were flying 2nd on the ladder when we beat them in 2024.

Last year our win came at a time, and basically the only time all year we had a settled injury free side which lasted precisely that one week, and this year similar we have found form and are injury free.

We do match up well against them, sure, but it seems us being poor since late 2024 until basically the last month has wiped peoples brains clean that we have been garbage for 30 years non stop.

I have my Carlton water bottle and sometimes a badge. Often a huge grin.

Maybe in a quiet moment I let slip a dadadadadah?

I really don't think this warrants it's own thread, just seems like a whinge that could belong in a gamethread.
Meh. It's meant to be light hearted.
And didn't like the implied 'tou didn't really ein' when we 100 per cent deserved that win.
No problem from me if we had played like crap and got lucky.

But we out played them and Scott was ungracious((being kind) Fox Footy...Gerard
..we'd put up with 2 Cats callers (😛)
Felt good to have a little release thread I thought. If you don't like it...sure . Easy to avoid. Mods can delete if it gets out of hand.
( or if C.Scott is applying for the job.🤭)

I admit that 50 m penalty was probably the most bizarre one that I can recall. There was nobody on the mark and nobody within cooee. That was an absolute joke, which I'm sure Chris Scott has either totally forgotten or wishes to ignore. Probably the latter, with his arrogance.

No doubt he is one of the great coaches 👍

Boo GTC boo.

Talking just about the game doesnt offer me enough.

I need villains, VILLAINS I TELLS YA!

Chris Scott has no respect for Carlton's system or skill level despite losing the last 4 against us. Thinks we have a 1 wood of winning contest and we keep getting the Cats with that when they are on a downer.
And long may that continue. His arrogance filters onto the ground and his players believe it too. We will win this fixture every year from here. Our team should only get better but theirs is probably maxed out.

The deliberate out of bounds on Weitering that eventually put them in front was equally mind blowing.
