Not sure I agree with that, we have had it on our terms for large periods of time and have been super wasteful in front of goal.

Neale, Martin, Henry all missing sitters and Cameron dropped a chest mark right in front.
Yep.

It's another week of him looking slow, down on confidence and most of his involvements blowing up in his face.
Blicavs tackling is embarrassing. At one stage he loped after a player and gave him a pat on the behind instead of tackling him. It was weird. He can hardly run. He must be carrying an injury.

If as a team you are not prepared to put the body on the line and win first possession then you need to learn how to ****ing tackle weak as water to many of this group of Cats.

Yep, we're too reactive rather than being proactive.

Too often we stand back and wait to see what happens. Meantime our opponents get in there and make it happen.

S. O. F. T.

Right up there as one of the softest I've ever seen. Definition of a downhill skier, does nothing when we aren't on top.

It has to change.

What annoys me the most is that the whipping boy Ollie Henry has really taken the extra step. Looks like he’s worked hard on his running and pressure, getting more involved.

Dempsey has the talent, but he’s so soft. What’s worse that it’s not improved. He’s the same when the game is like this.

Just doesn't look at the level. James Parsons vibes.
Close was poor last week but fine in the month leading up to that. Has had some good wet weather moments over the years. Goals are crucial and he at least had 8 of them and 5 goal assists over his past 7 games. Feels like we made a mistake there.

Commentary team are so invested in the "Stewart tagged out of the game is the decisive move that will win this" meta narrative it's making any play involving Stewart insufferable.

Stewart wins an unbelievable 1 on 4, one of the plays of the game, and Ricciuto gives it a one sentence mention, with no follow up while the others stay silent. Meanwhile any minor thing Ah Chee does is salivated over.

Later on Stewart has several other good moments that they don't comment on.

Then Ralph tries to get Stewart rubbed out because it fits a "the Crows tagged him out of the game and so he lashed out in anger" narrative, even though it's nowhere near worthy of suspension.

****ing pathetic.

There are currently 11 players with 1 or less contested possessions in the first half - 7 of them are Cats (Cameron, Wiltshire, Bruhn, Mannagh, Neale, O'Connor, Stewart).

Last week I had a thought as to what was needed late in the game.
And I now have the same thought.

There aren't too many centre bounces.

Put Stewart in there for the contest and then let him roll back.
It would be a change up.

Danger cant do it all game.
And put Smith on a wing.

I reckon Atkins might lose his position to Worpel the way he’s going, also might be time to put Blitz in the twos.

Yes and no. Conditions not suiting the taller guys, Blitz I thought is at least creating a contest. Though agree he could be better, tackling especially

Yeah omitting Close and not having Worpel is a big coaching mistake given the conditions, which were entirely predictable tonight.

But we're dominating the contested possessions.

Our general play has been fine just super wasteful in the forward 50 and given away a couple of soft goals going the other way.

SDKs post stoppage center bounce work is so good in the ruck, amazing how much less annoying he is when not playing KPD
When Edwards is playing, he should be the backup option in the centre bounce and not Blicavs or Neale

And then there's the tackle count......

It paints an honest picture of the play so far tonight.

Agree and the usual whipping boys and bottom six will get criticised if we lose this, but where is the accountability for underperforming senior players? Atkins 7 touches in a half. Had three in the first half last week. We all love him but something isn't right there.

He's not going well but others will get criticised
