Location: Eddie Stadium, somewhere over near the train station, blocking the traffic
I am really excited to come down and see this marvellous new stadium Eddie has built. I have to admit I was a great doubter at first. But $1 Billion dollars, 19 closed schools, 2 de-funded new hospitals, 1500...
The Dean Towers didn’t see Buddy on the Wing memorial game:
Harley to the media after extending Deano’s contract in October 2016, "He adds a point of difference to our team and has the ability to impact the game in a number of ways."
You bet he does!
TEAM CHANGES (pending final teams)...
Resolution! Hird will now be paid in advance. No need for Supreme court action, or End of Times options regarding AFL funding. Huzzah. And the AFL have agreed to this? Good. Very good. No, excelllent in fact. Wonderful. I'm completely reassured that everything is in good order. Absolutely top...
Well rather than discuss CoL and KT for the next 6 months, how about a thread on this NZ game? Is anyone here going? Are we on board with this vision? After tripping down to Lonny this year I quite like the idea of another venue to catch the team (apologies to Melb supporters missing another...
I pretty much disregarded talk of trying to land Cloke next year when it first came up. But now as details emerge of the terms he's after (5 years $900k) and looking at his age 25/26 I'm starting to think he could be the missing link in our dire troubles up forward.
Lyons knows the value of a...
I've just been thinking on who we would regard as the most improved player for us this season?
Probably the player that has attracted the most attention around the league would be Malceski. And he has certainly elevated himself into one of our very best players. But personally I'd already seen...
I've just been taking a look at Sydney's average losing margins compared to the other teams in the eight and it really struck me how few times we've been thrashed this season. We're averaging 13.75 as a losing margin. Only Geelong with 13.33 has had a better return. And considering how many more...
I know some will think this is a whinge thread about Barry Hall. That's not my intention. I've actually noticed this year that all the power forwards across the board have been really struggling with the new hands-in-the-back interpretation.
While they seem to be receiving approx the same...
Am I wrong or are we having an exceptionally bad season when it comes to producing scoreboard pressure this year?
So far out of a possible 24 qtrs:
5 with one or less goals (20.8%)
and 4 where we only scored 2 goals (16.6%)
Seriously, we're a 1 in 5 chance of scoring 1 or less goals...
Not sure how this actually works but here goes: :o
Rounds 1-3
After three rounds Spida's worth to the structure is now starting to really become apparent. Heavy criticism followed his opening game against the Eagles, but a near best BOG against Richmond showed he still has plenty of fire...
It's gone a little unnoticed with the disappointing loss. But I just thought coming back from that knock to the head was very brave. He looked pretty dazed, and needed 6 stitches on the inside of his mouth. Can't say he didn't put his hand up on the night.
Not sounding too great. He's out this week and also willl not be playing in the reserves. Needing a touch more time. Roos wants him to play a game in the reserves before bringing him back because of his lack of match fitness. :(
Davis out for 3 weeks, too.
Thoughts?
I don't like it. But we're stuck with it, so I'm more concerned about how it will effect our team. I haven't had enough time to fully guage the impact yet. I saw a few terrible frees at the North Sydney game that had me worried.
Watching the NAB game against the Doggies I noticed...
Maxfield weighing into the mess trade week has become:
http://www.smh.com.au/news/afl/swans-want-action-to-ensure-fair-trades/2006/10/12/1160246263397.html
Interesting stuff. I'm not sure when they set up trade week the AFL envisioned football departments deliberately choosing not to...

The true extent of the injury list is starting to come out now. Craig Bolton we now know had a hamstring tear at training during the week but played on. LRT was labouring with a stress fracture to his foot - which would...

According to Cook the Sydney Crowd doesn't rate compared to Freo's.
Sounds like a gauntlet has been thrown down, people. I encourage all Sydney fans to be absolutely feral on Fri!! Bring on the hate. :D...
I've noticed that during even the most stressful periods of games when they cut to the coaches box Roos and his staff are calmly sitting there and frequently everyone appears to be eating something. I always assumed they were all chewing gum.
During the Qualifier, however, when the Eagles...
Queued with friends and secured our 20 seats!!! Should be a corker.
At 9.40am only Standard and Prime tix were left, all the Premium tickets were gone. This could just mean the Premium allocation for Swans members, of course.
Can't wait. :D
Seems his promise not to be a career coach will prove true.

"I'd say it's a minimum of three more years and then we'll just see what happens after that," Roos said. "My wife's American and my...
Seeing him run back onto the field after that late hit from Chick brought back memories of Kirky riding that Pickett bump in the Qualifier against Port in 2003.
Have to hand it to the guy. Absolutely poleaxed and limped off looking gone. :thumbsu:
Heartwarming sentiment from Chick:
http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,20378016-36035,00.html
"West Coast veteran Daniel Chick said yesterday the Eagles would try to target Jolly's injury. "I am sure someone will try and grab hold of it," Chick told the Ten network. "That is...
Missed this article yesterday. Boy was he in a chronic state!!
http://www.smh.com.au/news/afl/revealed-injury-that-broke-unbreakable-swan/2006/09/07/1157222264957.html
"SYDNEY midfielder Jared Crouch has revealed how he played this season with a broken collarbone, a chronic ankle injury...
Raft of changes coming into last night's game, but I can't seem to find anything concrete about any of these injuries.
Crouch: coverage said he limped off the ground at the reserves? Is his season done?
LRT: Foot injury. Anyone? Anyone?
Ablett: heard he hurt his back late in the Geelong game...
Another fantastic game from Jolly today. But I was equally impressed by the assistance Doyley provided.
If we can hold these two together for the rest of the year, I'd be confident we could hold our own against any ruck division going. :thumbsu:
