He has lost a bit of confidence for sure, form drops a bit but you can't question his endeavour. Things can change very quickly with a player like Cumberland. Campbell needs a spell and is doing pretty much nothing up top, what harm in giving him a go.
For me it's not so much about Noah, more about what the team needs, goal kickers.
His form across the VFL has been pretty consistent. Had a poor week where he carried a knee knock in the first Q vs Swans, but otherwise he has gone hard and run and pressured well. And I agree for his own sake...
His tackling and pressure has been he strongest suite this year, 8 two weeks ago, 6 with 8 contested possessions last week. I don't think Dusty has much to do with it. In fact shouldn't Dusty be going through the middle a bit more given our mids are flyweights Baker, Dow and Bolton.
He played through there 2 weeks ago and considering it was his first time in there for years he was okay.
We play a very tall forward line in the VFL so he has to move up the ground to get a kick, but he looks pretty switched on around the ball so it will click hopefully. Was noted he didn't...
I think he is already clunking them. If he gets his hands on it they stick, very much a one touch player. Just getting to the contests, ie reading the play is something that he is learning. He has great scope for improvement as well.
I don't think anyone is demanding Cumberland gets a game, (Groupie, but piss taking me thinks), more inquiring why not.
We have forwards who haven't kicked a goal in 3 and 5 weeks. We kicked 5 in total last week, so you'd think that trying something new in the forward line might be a good idea...
North maybe, depth no problem. Again talking in the past regarding performance, when was the last time he played sustained good football, a while ago. Injuries, plateaued?
My argument is not would he be tradeable, he may be, but we should not be playing him in a team when we and he are...
What has the past got to do with the future. He is a player that should have taken the bull by the horns with all our senior players injured and he hasn't. He was given a go in the midfield, and now he isn't. Sounds like a stalled player, sound bite or not.
Where in our best 22 does Graham fit...
I think clubs have seen a lot of him and see that he has stalled as a player. Caddy wasn't picked up for much the same reason. Young players who have not had a lot of exposure, were highish draft pics, suit a need etc, worth a punt, get picked up and are given a go.
Graham I don't feel should...
Or you could follow the general flow of the last 150 odd pages that have debated whether Graham is worth his place in the side. Generally, when that happens, the player is not long for the side because we don't debate the good to very good players.
Graham is a veteran of his position, he is at...
Was talking to someone about him the other day who said he was playing already for Ivanhoe. But he mentioned how much he was loving being at Richmond and in the AFL environment, parents were saying he's like a new person. Good to hear the vibe is good around the club.
Well that's settled then. Seems to me over the years that when a player has 161 pages (Part 2) on this forum, there is a reasonable cause for discussion as to whether they are good enough to be in the side. Clueless the lot of us, except your good self.
And he played that role well in our Premiership years. He and Lambert both doing the corridor running to cover for Dusty not going into defence as a midfielder. You want to talk positive role players, those two were great examples.
But now we need our half forwards to play as attacking...
Played him in the middle two weeks ago and he was okay. Most of all he looked like he was enjoying his time in there. Last week not sighted on ball. It doesn't make sense, what is VFL for but for players to work on their deficiencies and run into some form.
Right now he is just a crumbing...
People forget how good he was early on. He's a bit like Richo, (those words have never been written before I'd wager), but for all his good work, you sometimes remember the blunders. He was spent by the end when he had to move up the ground to get a kick. I hate the term pressure forward because...
It's pretty obvious Graham is fast when up and running, he is a great gut runner as he can do it all day. Fact, because he has done it all his career.
Right now we have no midfielders with any bulk, so Graham should be playing in the guts. But he can't because he can't get to the ball fast...
Castagna took the second most marks inside 50 in 2017 behind Jack (from memory). He was good in the air, and his great pace caused a lot of trouble for sides. After Lynch came he had to work further and further up the ground until his confidence completely deserted itself. With a low skill set...
Forgot about Pickett. I had him starting mid in my mocked side this week.
He was good as a defensive mid last game, he has the speed to keep up with the play/player. Does my head in with basic mistakes, that handball at a teammates shins from 2 metres away that led to Melbourne's first or...
Not a full timer. I think a combination of all our young mids together and add Baker, Bolton and Dusty to the mix might be a different look. Not sure that Graham even with his big body is all that beneficial because he doesn't help us get first hands on the ball, the no.1 problem our small and...
