The Herald Sun article was sensationalist rubbish.
While they did tell the people to get off the marquee and said that the band wouldn’t keep going until they did… they did not ‘rush the band offstage’ as the article states.
They waited until Rage went off for the break before their encore...
That's the thing, I am a fan and knew the stuff pretty well. The live performance just didn't really do it for me.
I probably would've enjoyed it more had they been on earlier in the day rather than between Karnivool and Rage on my schedule.
What a long day that was.
The best:
Anti-Flag - Pick of the bunch for me.
Enter Shikari - Funny and entertaining, the CD translated a lot better live than I expected.
Rage - Didn't leave disappointed, feeling the ground shake backwards and forwards was insane.
Karnivool - Very solid.
The good...
Read what I've written in this thread.
The only points I have argued is that ATDI should be classified as an emo band and that emo as a fashion sense should be separated from emo as a music style.
I have made no claims that emo music is either good or bad. In fact I couldn't care less if you...
Just because you think 'emo' is a bad word that is the musical equivalent of cancer does not make it so. Your clever use of '' sure showed me though.
Emo is more than just whining about your problems, it's about emotional lyrics AND on stage performances.
A quote from Cedric on...
At The Drive-In were most definitely emo.
Of course bands can be put into many genre's as it's a subjective thing that is hard to define. In their case you could argue they are post-hardcore or emo-core (hardcore emo).
Emo can really be used in 2 contexts; as a fashion style such as the...
You're not wrong, vocally it would've been rubbish anyway but there was just something about the mix itself that sounded off. I can't remember exactly what was wrong as I didn't stick around long enough to figure it out. They could've just been **** musicians.
One thing I think they have going...
What I saw:
Butterfly Effect – Nothing special. 3/10
Evermore – Waited for the one song I wanted to see (which they played I think 3rd), the usual boring crap from them. 3/10
Scribe – I’m a fan, enjoyed it. 6/10
MCR – Sounded horrible, not a big fan of the band but the mix did no...

Radiohead, where do you start? First I must admit I am a fan; I have OK Computer, Kid A, Half to the Thief & The Bends. These are all decent albums, but with the exception of OK Computer none stayed in my CD player for any great period of time.
That leads me to my problem with Radiohead, out...

The Clash, The Ramones & The Sex Pistols for a triple headline tour of Melbourne (10 shows).
Supporting bands being; Nirvana, The Jimi Hendix Experience & Queen.
I don't think I'm asking for much.
The price is getting out of control, $150 where will it stop?
Having said that I will probably go. The lineup so far looks good, since the cost has gone up so much I would expect some very good bands in the 2nd lineup to justify the cost.
Great as usual.
I had 2 lowlights:
*Goons of Doom
*When Lindberg said something along the lines of 'Give it up for the Goons of Doom, Australias best band'. What an insult to every other Australian band.
Agree if you are talking just albums. However I thought their first EP (Grinspoon aka Green Album) was even better than Guide to Better Living. Save Me off that EP is IMO the best Grinspoon song closely followed by Pedestrian on GTBL.
I believe the tennis is on (or at least around that time) which rules that area out and the G would never allow it. There's got to be somewhere will enough park land for it.
