The question with these late picks always has to be 'Why did other clubs not pick Player X' ?? Carlton took this McCreadie at Pick 48 and people on our board (and others) are claiming he's a 'steal'. But have to confess it seems a bit suss that GWS passed on him as an academy or zone player.

Agree with you on all these sliding theories. At the end of the day, regardless of where he may have been rated, he is a Pick 20 - not potential Pick 5. Same with other players - the 'ratings' are just media stories and have no genuine correlation to how the clubs rate them. It just tends to...

Really can't believe Carlton took Boekhorst over Laverde. If you look at their highlight reels, Laverde's goes for 3m 39s whereas Boekhorsts only goes for 3m 16s. What was Rogers thinking ??? :D

I've noticed that myself. In particular, if you read the Geelong posters on this thread they seem to think they are part of the negotiating team (and being a little smug about it in my opinion). As Melbourne ramp things up in the bidding war you may see Geelong start to sweat a little.

Yes -I have basically given up on the main board - just such a waste of time. On the rare occasion where I get sucked into reading it I always come away feeling 5% less intelligent - kind of the same feeling I got if I happened to change channels and caught myself watching 'Big Brother'!!

Given they way Carlton are going our trade value may not be much different to North !. We could potentially be as low as 10th or 11th giving us Pick 8 or 9 to trade - maybe coupled with a player or two ? Realistically though, Geelong will get the deal done with their 1st pick and compo picks...
