just listening to ABC and they are describing the game as a bears training drill
thought you guys would start with a flourish
 
Merrett is looking like he'll kick the first real bag against the Giants, that I can remember at least.
 
No idea what GWS were thinking.
Rested so many of there good players for this game.

Before i saw the teams list i would of thought GWS had a shot at winning this game.
Once i saw the outs i knew it would be no chance.
 
Had to rest those guys at some stage I guess, all of them had played all 7 games and most of them were doing the heavy lifting in the team.

True, but they'll also be looking to field a 'better 22' against Essendon next week at the opening of Skoda Stadium. Not necessarily a winnable game next week but a very important one to have the 'better 22' on display.

A very unGWS performance for the first quarter.... very soft here's hoping they lift. just watching choc giving a spray and well deserved.

This is beyond a joke. You can't give a guy two steps before calling play on. Call him to go back behind his mark before you pay 50.
 
I agree with Huddo here and think Johnson is completely wrong. How can you expect a player to just allow someone to play on and run around you easily in that position? At least on Friday night Fasolo hadn't run off his mark, Zorko was completely gone then.

Appalling decision. This game is basically a pre-season game. I guess the nay-Sayers are right, this is really a pre-season-season and we are just making up the numbers. Our grand final was last week.
 
Almost lucky to not be down by a lot more at the half. Certainly one of the poorer halves we've seen despite the improved second quarter.

As Chad just pointed out, "I'm sure we'll get a spray." The opportunity is still there for the second half to go hard at the ball as we've come to expect from them.

I hate how this rule gets exploited. They run away from the mark line and as soon as they see they have no advantage they point to th mark to signify they are now claiming the mark. Shouldn't be allowed to have it both ways. As soon as a player drifts at all, should be automatic play on.
 
making the bears look good is hard work
caller on wireless said this game is not even close to AFL standard
