where as last week against footscray, they played him in the centre square while Pruessy was rucking, and did quite well, and ran out the game well too....
Maj (well, every player) needs an extended run at it, not one game then out. unfortunatelly, we are in a possition, that cant afford to do that, so its a bit of a tricky one.
I for one, depending on the result of todays game, and how Toddy pulls up, play maj next week as a ruck, and ruck only (rest him like goldy) and see how he goes. if he goes ok, who knows after that.....

Didn't see last weeks game so can't comment on it.
On last nights game and the pre season games I watched I don't think much has changed on previous years.

I Speak with a club employee often and we always discuss my man Majak. Mainly because I bring him up and fair to say this guy wasn't his number one fan. Even he admitted Maj had improved and is becoming the player they hoped.

Just somehow we need him to sign on, his time will come, nothing surer. Waite and Petrie can't go on forever. Mckay and Durdin are many miles behind Majak.

Not sure where unlikely came into it at that stage? As the case went on, certainly looked good for Majak, and the club did believe no one else would take with the case hanging over his head. No club wants a convicted rapist on any list.

Has had interest every year from other clubs excluding 2015 court case business. For whatever reason he is judged extremely harshly in comparison to many of his peers. Not sure why? Anyone??

I was looking through some stats and he is a 16 game veteran that has been subbed out in 7 of those games, yet to play 10 full games yet judged like we have had a good look. but if I am wrong I too ask why the unfair judgments.

Agree that brown is no good in the ruck but he is a far better forward with exceptional skills for a big bloke. Also a very smart player

When Goldstein is benched we're doubly disadvantaged because we lose the centre clearance and we lose Brown as a get out option leading up the wing.

Bottom line is, Daw has played 16 AFL games. 13 were terrible. 1 was concussed early. 2 were good. Of those good games, 1 was in a glorified practice match and Richmond were going through motions, the other was 4 years ago. That is hardly a player who is going to command attention from opposition clubs.

At best we will offer Daw another rookie contract at season's end to keep him as a back up ruckman. Petrie will likely retire and Waite will play on next year. Black would be next in line to play the Petrie role at this point, but my preference would be to try and attract a free agent as Drew's replacement.

How many chances has he actually had to do that?

Right now as it stands Majak would be the starting ruckman in at least 2/3 AFL sides that I can think of of the top of my head.

At North he is behind a long list of quality talls, however we have never really seen his wares at AFL level because in his entire career he has never really been given the chance. Despite playing consistent high level VFL footy.

I do find it interesting that you have posted a total of 19 posts in 2016. 9 of them in the last 2 pages of this thread, as a causal obeservation one may conclude that it is not just football analysis going on here.

I disagree. I think he needs to have an impact as a result of four effective quarters... and that other stuff.

You're copping stick here from the "but he hasn't had an extended run" brigade, but I personally agree with the view. Sometimes a player like Benny Brown comes in and you can see "he's got it". Sometimes a player like Daw comes in and you can see "he hasn't got it".

Okay, possibly a bit harsh, but while the highlight reel is great, whether it's been a lack of aerobic fitness or footy nous, but from what I've seen at AFL level he seems lost. He'd be a real weapon if he could show greater consistency, but ironically he comes across as an impact player who simply lacks impact.

I understand that we all have bias and that it comes out, and is more easily hidden when you are posting 1900 times in 4 months than if posting 19.

I just find it interesting that in a year where we are 7-0 that a poster would take the time to dedicate 47% of thier posts to saying we shouldn't have a fringe player on our list.

4 Bris Had fans on feet after grabbing high mark in first minute. 3
5 Haw Used spring effectively and had a quieter second game. Subbed off 3
6 Port On Heath and kicked a goal before being subbed off in final term. 4
7 WB Best afield with six goals. Ended up the main target. Excitement machine. 8
8 WCE Dropped a couple of marks early. Subbed off in third term. 3
9 Adel Horrible. Didn’t have a kick and coach then subbed him out in third term. 1

2014 Season
6 Frem Provided a good tall option in attack early, although influence waned. 4
7 GCS Gave a target in attack but ran under plenty of marks. Kicked two goals. 5
9 Bris Not a big day with 1.4, but accuracy would have made it better. 3
10 Geel Hammered by Rivers early then Blicavs later. Two marks, one goal. 3

23 Rich Big start and imposed himself with two goals. The tapered. 5

so of the 9 full games he has played excellent in 1 average in 3 and below average in 4 and poor in 1, a bit unfair to judge in games he was subbed out in, but either way not the 13 were terrible. 1 was concussed early. 2 were good that you remember when comparing him to Carey.

We've turned a corner with Brown in the side, he sures up the structure across the whole field. Wish he could kill it in the ruck like Daw does but his pros way outweigh the cons.
