Taking Fiora over Pav is ancient history and should have no influence in the decision. Before he was drafted, all the talk was that Pav would go back to Adelaide as soon as possible, but he has had opportunities in the past and hasn't done so. So I think the most likely scenario is that he will stay at Freo, or the second (far more remote scenario) is that he will go to Adelide. Still, IMO the club would be negliglent if it didn't do everything it could to get stars like this to fall through to the PSD, or at least force clubs into a trade similar to the Fiora-Simmonds trade.

We got very lucky to land Simmonds for that girl Fiora, we still dont deserve Pavlich, we had our chance and we stuffed up its as simple as that. To be honest i want to rebuild if we can get Pavlich in the PSD then that would be great. If we trade for him then they will want first pick and i hope Richmond dont give it up we need to start from fresh it is so important that we stop trading and build up a team which can make finals. Im sick of watching Ricmond lose every week and not make finals it is really upsetting, i love my football and it is depressing to see the team i love and have a mighty old passion for make the finals approx every six years. It is up to the people within richmond to fix this problem. If Pavlich is the person who can fix this disastrous problem then Greg Miller do what u need to do and land him at the tiges but i think it is rebuilding time anfd we can do without him. I hope Richmond can make some smart recruting decisions and get us into finals becuase at the moment we are in a very sad position.

I may be drunk but it doesnt matter becuase the passion is still within me GO THE TIGERS lets make everything right.

I don't care whether we deserve him or not. We are (should be) in the business of winning premierships and if we have to shaft other clubs and poach their star then by all means do it.

Having said that, I wouldn't have thought he is the obvious name to chase when there are others out of contract that I would rather.

Maybe it's all about giving notice that we have cash to spend (whether we really do or not). You'd have to think that player managers love hearing this kind of stuff and if it only serves to destroy other teams' salary caps then that's fine by me.

Maybe it's all about giving notice that we have cash to spend (whether we really do or not).

Richmond are rumoured to be spending towards the bottom of the 92.5% minimum cap as required. Let's play safe and say we are spending 95% of the 6.94m = $6.59m.

The cap goes up next season to $7.43m. To even stay at the minimum ($6.87m) we have to find about $300k in extra salary to avoid coping penalties.

Now factor in half of Gaspar's money going, half of Bowden's money going (when/if he gets promoted to vets' list), Krakouer, Hall and Knobel probably getting cut. That has to be about $700k or so. Sure some will be eaten up by new deals for other players, back-loaded contracts etc - but still ... let's say we 'save' $400k from those moves.

$300k from the increase in the cap, $400k from list management. We will HAVE TO find a way of spending an extra $600k-$700k or so - just to avoid fines and draft penalties.

I doubt we will be able to entice a Pavlich - but I think we will be going very hard for someone in the $400-$600k price bracket. Maybe even looking to trade for someone who will earn $400k and someone in the PSD on $300k.

Yet another factor that the kids-kids-kids, picks-picks-picks brigade don't take into acount. Unless you want to sign Deledio on $600k and Edwards on $400k - you can't just have kids because you can't pay out enough cash.

Expect us to acquire player/s via trade / PSD.
