from abysmal, underdone players, big injury list, getting the system right (eg walker in, 2 ruckman) to getting only just beaten by a port team that i picked to finish top 8 (and always play their gf's in showdowns), are we that far away. given the inconsistent form of the top few, maybe we could win 10 in a row. that would put us amongst it. i don't think top 8 is gone. good signs on the weekend. thoughts????

absolutely delusional, we're underdone, have 0 confidence and are missing crucial structural players (ruckmen+midfielders)
Winning this week is by no means certain, never mind the nine games that follow it.

You saw enough on the weekend (and previously) to believe that "maybe we could win 10 in a row" ??

Wow - maybe I need to get my eyes checked. I reckon the odds on that would be 1000 to 1 at best (even this actually implies that we're a 50/50 chance in each game...but that's just one for the stats gurus ;))

beating a fired up power at aami stadium is a very difficult task, just ask st kilda. we went with them for 3 quarters and we have no reason to believe that we won't get better. we will win this week by no less than 50 points. could be a turning point. it could happen. maybe not likely, but it could happen. this is why the adelaide footy club never gives in.

If we only lose 1 game in every 4, from now on, we would still make the 8. So, it is not an impossibility. Is it?

It's not impossible, just highly unlikely given the opponents we still have waiting ahead of us. I'd feel far more confident if we were playing Richmond in 13 of our 16 remaining games.

Keep it simple! Best to take this one week a time (yeah I know it's a cliche), and when/if we win against Richmond, we can then focus on the next game.

I feel uneasy looking anymore than 3 rounds ahead.

getting a bit drunk...... but i'm fairly confident that the top few have come back to the group. collingwood a good exception, but expected top 4 from last year seem beatable this year. ten in a row is a chance if they play 2 ruckman and don't get any more injuries.

come on crow98, where are you.

Excuse me:eek: 10 in a row did you say... No chance whatsoever

Going by normal standards, 12 wins is neccessary to make the finals. We won't do that but you never know... Essenscum made them last year with 10 wins IIRC so 10/11 wins out of 16 isn't out of the question if we can get our act together.

Someday a team will come back from an early string of losses like this to win the thing. Just a matter of when. Not that I'm expecting us to do it.

If you did that (win 10 in a row), you'd qualify for one of these...

And since you are playing St.Kilda away in Round 10 and Geelong at home in Round 16, I somehow doubt it's going to happen.

janus,

its not over yet. good looking chick, but after our loss to you, we are back. crows will hit 10 in a row, we will make the 8. i have watched this stuff all year. we only need craigy to not be a clown.

i was at school with triggy. not the smartest guy. geography teacher, not much more. decent geography teacher though, got 18.

My classmates in year 12 did just that. Their team didn't win a game in the first half of the season. Somehow they turned it all around - they didn't lose a game in the second half of the season and that includes the Grand Final.

Hopefully the players have the same positive thinking that you do. Because it will be quite easy for them to think that it's all too hard in the back end of the season.

west lakes footy club u15's up by 6 goals at quarter time at woody oval. get beaten by 7 goals. who was there?? big gf that one. gee i could name some names.

This is surely a troll. I'm hoping this aint a Port supporter pretending to be a crows fans.

Very embarrassing to say the least

Actually I think this is a very good example of the issues with the way many people think about our clubs results and performance.

i.e. that it is totally random and unpredictable.
