We can't afford to fall into the trap of playing players who aren't 100% fit!

Sides have fallen into this trap before! St Kilda might even do it this week.

As honest, tough and uncomprimising as David Johnson is, I don't think we can afford to play him. Since Round 11, he has played one half of a game (against the Power before he did his hammy again).

Finals is all about pressure, and underdone players won't be able to keep up with it!

Totally agree. I think even more so given it is hard to find players to omit this week. Tenace and Mackie will be the first ones the selection committee considers dropping but they are both showing good form and improvement each week.

So we would have about 5 players to choose from this week then??

Many players play with injury, it is the extent of the injury they carry into the game that can be the issue.

David Neitz over the last few weeks is a good example...

Well, yeah, bad wording but his point with DJ and probably Enright remains.

It's a different situation to Kelly etc. who are already playing with injuries.

I would think that Byrnes would be considered this week. His pace was missed last week and he is one of only 2 in the side with genuine speed. Getting back on topic though, DJ is not going to get the chance to get his match fitness back. If he's fit physically and can run out a game, then he should be back (assuming he is able to do a better job than someone else in the 22). Hunt is also expected back this week, yet I can't imagine him being 100% either. Whatever the case may be, we will need at least one of these guys to take Davey and we have not other options for him at the moment (hmm, maybe Rooke might be worth a go on him?), so they're probably going to be in no matter what level of fitness they are at.

Yeah totally agree, DJ just isnt ready especially with the lift in tempo of finals footy. Hunt in this week, not sure who to take out. Probs Tenace.

Yeah, I meant though we can't take players in who aren't up to the speed and pressure because of injury.

Kelly's not 100% but he's fit enough to play.

LOL, good example the guy who has done nothing for the last few weeks then injured himself enough to miss what will be melbournes last game this year.
