What an amazing season. Just two wins out of the 'top 4' at the moment despite losing our closest 3 games of the season and easily the longest injury list in the comp.

If we can keep our % good I reckon we only need 3 more wins to make the finals. That will give us 11 wins and 11 losses.

That was enough for the pathetic underachievers next door in 2003 (how with their state squad did they not finish top 4 once from 1995 to 2004 - disgraceful and very very funny).

Also Brisbane have got in with 10 wins and 10.5 wins before. So with this season being so close 11 wins could well be enough.

That should be achieved in the next 3 games. Then round 21 and 22 is the key as to whether we can sneak up to a home final.

While I don't think we should be giving a toss about what the mob up the road did or didn't do in the past... I was playing around with the Ladder Predictor today and one particular (quite possible - not completely outlandish... ;) ) scenario saw us in the 8 by percentage on 11 wins. It is possible, but I wouldn't be taking too much hope from it. 12 wins is "safe" and 12 wins, at this stage, is still achievable. Very, very tough; but not impossible.

One thing we really have going for us is our percentage. The victorian journos in their weekly run home for finals contenders continue to leave Fremantle out of the equation for finals footy, they're written off already.

The Collingwood game is winable, and we've got a great record at the MCG of late.

The Richmond game gives the dockers a real chance to get some revenge, after being absolutely humiliated when the sides last met in Victoria. A winnable game.

I doubt we can beat West Coast with the way the eagles have been playing. We really need Farmer and Medhurst to be firing for this one. It's heritage round!

We then take on the Saints at home, which should be a real test, this game could decide whether we make finals or not this year.

Finally we play Port at AAMI. Even though the power haven't been playing great footy, our record at AAMI isn't the best. I doubt we can win this one. Both teams will be struggling to make the 8 and the home ground advantage may just get the power over the line.

So after playing with the ladder predictor like Imperial, if all goes well we could just sneak in with 11 wins. *fingers crossed*

I really wish Hase hasn't said that.

It's that time of year when we could really use some favours. Every single Freo fan should be cheering their lungs out for St Kilda this Saturday.

I would certainly suggest 11 wouldn't be enough, but we can certainly hope that it will be.

There you go, getting ahead of yourself again.
Um ... is that you talking to us?

HAHAHAHAHA!!

Can anyone say hypocrisy?

Go back to celebrating that 2005 Premiership Cup.

It's a long and hard road to make the Top 8. We need to focus on each game as it comes and not even pay attention to the ladder. Basically we need our players and supporters to be looking at each game individually, focusing on how to win it and look at the ladder in Round 22 to see if we need to focus for another week or not. That's what I'm doing and I sure hope CC follows.

Although I wouldn't say Haselby is getting ahead of himself. That statement looks more of a confidence statement. He's got confidence in himself and the rest of the team to make it. That fills me with a little confidence.

But if we lose to Collingwood all that hope and confidence will go out the window!

Haselby's statement was fine. He basically just stated the obvious and said the team would be aiming to make the eight, as any AFL team with an 8-9 record in any season would do. I wish he hasn't said it because he should've known that the media and idiotic Eagle fans (aren't they the same thing?) would make it into a big deal, and it could become a distraction.

The players should look at each game individually. But I'm just a fan, I have no obligation to do so. I will be cheering for as many favours from other teams as possible, starting with Essendon on Friday. But as we all know, we can get all the favours we like but if we lose on Sunday we may as well forget it.

We have never lost in our heritage jumper - the mightly red & white ie 2-0.

Also Fat wombat mentioned revenge for the tigers game earlier in the season if the dockers at present need to be motivated by revenge then they are wasting their time.

The motivation is to win - very simple!!

After Friday and Saturday's results it is looking even more likely that 11 wins will get a team in the finals if their % is good enough.

Red & White ??

We're talking Fremantle here ! Surely if we're trying to use heritage as a spur to motivate the team and get into the 8 why use Red and White a poor cousin to the real historic and heritage success in Fremantle thats Blue n White :p

Seriously tho, we just need to focus on winning each game and make each of them a final and continue to play with the intensity we did last week. I think we can make the 8 but we'll need a few more results like we had yesterday.

It seems even the doggies think they're in with a chance at this stage. It will be an exciting race to get into the 8 this year for all teams involved!

Personally I think 11 will be enough, but we have to win 11 first. Need to snag one of the big 3 to finish off. Could decide who makes the 8 out of us and the bullies.

Then again if richmond or melbourne have a complete form reversal or port manages to pinch one more than I think they will then it all changes again.

Just gonna have to keep on winning :)

Those last 3 games are a reversal of games they should have won ..

West Coast (we threw away nearly a 5 goal lead) to lose by 8 points
St Kilda ( we threw away a 15 point lead in time on) to lose by 1 point
Port Adelaide, beat by 35 points (I think)

The only game that worries me there is the St Kilda game.

Congrad's Freo, although you made our chance of making it a lot harder, you deserve it. You're team is very talented and should have been up there more of the year. Hopefully we get our time to see some finals action in the next couple years to. Good luck!

I still think 11 will be enough.

I thought Melbourne could beat Geelong today and that has helped. Also I think Bulldogs will at most win 2 of their last 3 and Port will lose to either Adelaide or Brisbane, possibly both.

Geelong still has WC to play and Brisbane has a tough run home.

I think if we beat Port last game as our 11th win we will get in if our % remains good. It may even be that if we can beat Saints next week and games go well in round 21 then we may be playing a Port side who already cannot make it.

Prediction is that we will finish on 11 wins and play Kangaroos who will finish 5th. Saints will slip to 4th and beat WC in first final if they have near a full side.

Then second week of finals would be Freo v WC ,hopefully in dry condiitons and hopefully the boys come to play. That would be sweet.
