Too many defensive players. Birss is the only tagger who can actually hurt the opposition the other way. We can't afford to be playing Dempster, Little Fish, Blake and Birss all at once, personally I think Little Fish and Dempster have to go (Birss has been great whilst Blake's versatility is handy).

Spot on, plus Dal brownlow has to grow some heart and actually get involved when the game is to be won.

Junk possesions at the end of qtrs a Brownlow does not bring !

He had 19 disposals in the first half when the game was there to be won, but nice try. You should edit your post and replace Dal with Stephen Milne. I would have said Kosi but he couldn't even manage to get involved in junk time :(

Was Milney there? I didn't notice. Would have had to have had less of the ball than either Gwilt or Fergason.

Rubbish post. Equal most contested possessions for the Saints (with Ball), equal most clearances (with Hayes), the most inside 50s, 3 tackles, 81% disposal efficiency, 27 possessions.

Disagree. When the Doggies turned up the heat he melted. First quarter was encouraging.

Re Junk time players... Leigh Montagna come on down. Surely he could be trade bait come years end?

So what was wrong with his 7 second quarter possessions?

You are more on the mark with Monty's 8 kicks for the game - don't see any need to turn a blowtorch on Dal Santo who played well and got the ball forward of centre (has got some cheap kicks in previous games, noting he has been playing with injury that may now have cleared).

how did dal santo's opponent fair?

i didnt get to watch a lot of the game (less than a qtr), but most times i've seen him this year he gets hurt alot in transition and gives his opponent too much room and they rack up the possessions..

Well I've watched it and have no idea aside from Dempster going to Cooney (as to who played on who in the midfield). To be honest, the Dogs were just far too even across the board with 12 players getting 22+ touches (we had three).
