#12 Bradley Sheppard

sheppard_bradley_draft_246a.jpg

Pick 7 in the 2009 national draft
Height: 186 cm
Weight: 78 kg

Key features:
- Rebounding defender/midfielder
- Good speed (2.96s 20 mtr sprint)
- Great disposal by hand and foot
- Great ball winning ability
- Versatile
- Takes the game on/run and carry
- Classy mover
- Good decision maker

Said to be already impressing at training. He has WAFL experience, experienced playing against men. If all goes to plan he should slot very well into the Eagles line up in 2010.

Meh, kinda a sucky thread.

Let's hope he can keep the trend of the number 7 pick going and win himself a rising star award.

Sheppard showed great signs in his first game for the Eagles despite only playing a half. His disposal was pretty crisp but the thing that caught our eye was his pace. The guy has wheels. Definitely positive signs coming out of his first hitout.

Poor Shep has been in the wars in WAFL and has suffered a fractured eye socket. He should return in about 4 weeks.

29 touches last match and 25 touches today alongside 2 goals.

2 goals in both games. :thumbsu:

Shep is inline for a call up this week. He should add some pace and good disposal to our team. :thumbsu:

I'm not sure if Shep has been playing off the HFF or anything but West Coast could finally have themselves another goal scoring midfielder. :thumbsu:

He played midfield. He missed a few shots at goal and could have easily had 3 or 4 goals for the match. Field passing was great, very un-eagles like:D. Showed some great pace at times aswell, hopefully he will get a call up this week.

Very exciting to hear. If Masto gets the axe this week I can't seem him not coming in.

I rekon the rise of Waters, Butler and Hurn in defence really gives me hope that Sheppard will come in as a midfielder more so then a HB flanker.

Mabye he will start at HB and free Waters to play in the forward line, either FP or HF or mabye starting in the middle?

In saying that.. isnt Sheppard basically going to play the same position that Stevenson is at AFL level? so mabye Stevenson will need to get dropped first before Sheppard can realistically come one.

ALSO... we have too many blokes with similar names. Shuey, Sheppard, Stevenson etc..

"Second-year midfielder Tom Swift and draftee Brad Sheppard are also pushing hard for selection and Worsfold said their claims were strong this week."

"Sheppard, who is yet to debut after being selected with West Coast’s first pick (No.7 overall) in the 2009 NAB AFL Draft, will bring the polished disposal and good decision-making that has been lacking at West Coast, Worsfold said."

“We’re aware of what he’s going to bring to the side when he comes in and I’d expect that’d be sooner rather than later,” the coach said.

“He’s a very exciting young player and he’s going to become one of our very good players as well."

“Whether that’s this week I can’t say yet."

Sounds pretty good for Sheppard :thumbsu::thumbsu:
Woosha's putting a bit of pressure on him though with some of those comments...

Stevenson on one wing, Sheppard on the other

Rosa out of the team

problem solved :thumbsu:

^^ Id prefer if they moved Rosa to HF if that happened, were not good enough that a Rosa should be out of the team atm.

It would be awesome to have both those guys burning up the wings though, precise kicks into the forward line!

This. Though probably a better idea in the long term, cause if we chuck them on the wings now it leaves them a bit exposed (in terms of youth) and we may see a few 2008 results coming back.

In the West's AFL watch:

"Classy midfielder had major impact with 25 touches"

Will no doubt debut against the hawks this week.

Stevenson should play next weekend as well, meaning Stevenson at FB kicks to Sheppard on a wing who links up with Hams at HF who delivers a pass to a leading Kennedy.

The unfortunate reality is

McKnezie handballs from fullback to a stationery Adam Selwood with a man next to him, Selwood panicks and handballs a pass to Rosa who's under more pressure, Rosa handpasses just in front of Priddis who has to win a hard ball, Priddis kicks the ball without looking straight to a Hawthorn player. Hawthorn rebound and goal
