You can do it D_one just say it you feel better.
Repeat after me .... Ports...... Crowds .... Are ...... Down ..... We...... Are ...... Reliant...... On..... The ..... Adelaide ..... Crows.
And yet we are only 713 behind the top team. That's right we are only 713 behind the top team.
When the top team hosted their cross town rivals at an 80,000 seat stadium they could only manage 22,565.
The $186 million revamp of the Noble, Bradman and Messenger Stands at the SCG will disrupt the Sydney Swans
The capacity of the ground is expected to be reduced from 45,000 to 34,000 at the most disruptive stage of the project.
The SCG has been reduced to 34,000 and yet against the Western Bulldogs the top side could only manage 13,505 ... the top side could only manage 13,505.
No wonder you're siding with the Camry Crows![]()
No, we should be targeting people, just not the old SACA members / crows fans. That's it just do what hopeless haysman did,sit on your hands and get handouts.
![]()
Wow the Camry Crows averaged 39,879 in 2004 when they finished 12th and this year they are only averaging 36,825 ... and they've been mostly top 4. Why aren't their crowds up around the 42,455 mark like they were the last time they finished top 4? Where have these 6K gone?
Thanks Mattrox for pointing out that the Camry Crows crowds have been dropping over the years and that this year's top 4 crowds are just a "dead cat bounce". Thanks heaps.![]()

Roo wants what's best for SA Football which is two healthy AFL clubs. He knows when writing in the powertiser he has to be nice, bit like rushyte.
Actually we are currently targeting international students who are new to Australia and living in Adelaide. Expect further targeting of locals once we move to Adelaide Oval.So why aren't you. ????
I would like to hear the Camry Crows fans express their opinions on this matter. One would expect a teams crowds to rise sharply if they have been in the top 4 for most of the season.
Trying to add a sensible post here.
The vast majority of seats at AAMI are allocated to season ticket holders, meaning there aren't a huge amount left for the general public (these "bandwaggoners" I hear people talking about).
But as to why there aren't more people going to the games than a few years ago, I think that every game being live against the gate (on Foxtel) has a huge impact on attendance. Personally, I have young kids and a lot of my weekend time is taken up on driving them around to their sports and activities, so I can't go to many games. Having it live on TV makes it much easier, and in 3 hours it's finished. Going to the game takes twice as long, and I don't have the time on the weekend.
Non SA'ian or just well known Port hater? Not sure which, maybe both? If the AFL can force the $ANFL into handing us the license by the end of 2014, and we can get (both teams) a stadium deal that is in the mid range or higher than other AFL clubs, then obviously the finances are better off and we have more flexibility in our football department spending. He's a passionate SA'ian who obviously wants AFL footy to thrive in his state. As a non-SA'ian, I can explain the reality of the situation objectively.
You said it yourself. It's obviously not due to bandwagon fans who only show up when the Crows are winning. Interest in AFL footy must be declining in SA, exacerbated by this joke of a football team called Poort Power and the fact that greater opportunities for employment lie across the border in the bigger cities of Sydney and Melbourne where large corporate offices are primarily based.
If this trend continues, there is no way SA can continue to support two AFL teams, particularly when one of them is a basket case rabble that is just happy to merely exist as a parody of its former alleged SANFL self whilst being run by some of the most incompetent people ever involved in professional sport.
No question about it. Poort Power don't belong in the AFL need to **** off and stop embarrassing themselves and SA footy.
Even with a few no shows we still have healthy crowds unlike the cash strapped power.I know 17,000 Port fans that have the same problem. Why are your fellow Camry Crows fans being so critical of them and you?
Remember Choco always talking about live TV effecting crowds but Demetriou was always denying it? I wonder what his opinion on this is now that every game is live and average crowds are at the lowest point since 1996.But as to why there aren't more people going to the games than a few years ago, I think that every game being live against the gate (on Foxtel) has a huge impact on attendance. You really are as thick as pig shit. People have answered this over and over, yet you keep asking the same question again and again. If your life revolves around fapping over an Adelaide crowd drop directly after 2 seasons out of finals and the worst season by the AFC in history, after the worst economic conditions since Adelaide joined the comp then its debatable whether or not you have a life...
Why did west coasts crowds only rise from 35k in 2010 to 37.5k in 2011 when the eagles went from their worst season ever to finishing top 4? After all, in 05, 06 and 07 they averaged over 40k.
Why has Ports crowds dropped from 23.8k in 2008 to 21.2k average in 2012 despite both years having a 30% win average? Thats an 11% drop...
Why did Ports crowds rise from 26.3k average in 2000 to 27.2k average in 2006, yet today Ports crowds are averaged at 21.2k in a year they have similar win/loss percentages?

He would say attendances across the league are up and clubs get more money due to the increased payments coming from the new tv rights deal.Remember Choco always talking about live TV effecting crowds but Demetriou was always denying it? Time to give up on Port Power and start up a new SA club then? Maybe something that appeals to the Northern suburbs.Roo wants what's best for SA Football which is two healthy AFL clubs.
More $ = more spend on the entire football department which more often than not leads to better on field performances and that is what brings in the crowds.Still not going to help if nobody wants to attend your games.

A simple rebranding, like Footscray did will suffice. And is likely.Time to give up on Port Power and start up a new SA club then? Maybe something that appeals to the Northern suburbs.
43,500 Capacity stadium vs 51,515.
