Non-contact for another week but otherwise has a full training load.

ā€œHurls had a shoulder reconstruction and he’s really at the end of his rehabilitation phase. He’s been training essentially fully with the group except for contact,ā€ Rundle said on Tuesday.

ā€œHe’s at the end of his contact progressions now and should be integrating fully with the group within the next week or so.ā€

And back in the leadership group too.

Complete Beast he is! If Hooker goes down back next year we will have two AA Backmen. and the way Baguley has been playing in reason times it wouldn't surprise me if he could take his game to an AA level also.

Anybody have that clip of him monstering Tredders on debut?

Not so much monstering Tredders, but an 18yo using his body so smartly to protect the drop zone against a 10+ year veteran who was a contested mark beast, probably 15kgs heavier, an inch or 2 taller, and one of the best CHFs of the last 20 years.

Footy park, southern end, about 30m out from goal, nobody else within cooee of them. It was huge and it certainly made me stand up and take notice.

All those people calling him an overrated spud (and there were many three years ago) seem to have gone suspiciously quiet.

They must have run out of spud and are now busy eating polenta ingots or something.

I will admit I have great satisfaction about this. Even at the start of the year posters were laughing that we said Hurley could be an AA defender soon ... now whose laughing? :P

I'll still say it.

He was a hack then, and kicks even less goals now. How he made AA over Nic Nat I don't know.

Nah. It's a new era mate. We sandgropers don't do shit like that. You'll get used to the WA way in time. :thumbsu:
Daniher to wear a glove and start having shots from 65-70 out?

Is fast moving to the top of that '08 draft class..

Would still take Hurley over any other player available to us at 5 that year. Could make a case for Dayne Beams (taken at 29) or Dan Hannebury (taken at 30) but we were in desperate need for a KPD it was a no brainer and has fast moved into the elite bracket.

The only issue with Hurley is injuries plus a decent amount of time spent up forward (where he showed quite a fair bit of ability) has delayed up until recently what this guy always looked like he would become- a dominant KPD.

I love this man. It's only Hooker's rag to riches story that stopping him be my number 1. Heppell and Laverde too. Damn we have some talent on the list and I hope this guy gets to play some serious finals soon. I know a few of you are just joking about him forward .... but .... he has a pretty big tank and maybe the confidence from this year means he'll start clunking them up forward!!

Anyway this moment should have seen Hurley miss out on AA;

Really wish we still had Predator down there.

Hey Bomber fans - just a quick one:

What were some of the knocks on Hurley when playing as forward?

.... or was he shifted down back purely for team balance?
Ran under the ball and dropped marks too often. Sort of had 'hard hands'.

That 1st game against Tredrea and a few weeks later against N Riewoldt, was just a awesome defender.

Kept getting injured as well
