Yes we did have a few injuries on the weekend, but that is no excuse. Westbourne came to play, and we didn't. We were unnaccountable and our skills we're sloppy. To Westbourne's credit they played some good footy and deserved to be the ones to finally beat us. Hopefully this loss will be the kick us Redders need to start getting a bit more serious, getting more numbers at training and have a real crack. Redders???

The train is starting to derail for the redders, and what a time to pounce for the xavs. Fiztroy have peaked to early and to be honest werent even that good. Watch other teams like xavs and st leos come storming home. Xavs to beat Redders by 40 points.
 
everyone is saying how the reds had players out, and how their train is starting to derail, but i dont think any of you are giving OW the credit they deserve for beating the ladder leaders.
the fact is that OW had four of probably their top 6 or 7 out as well,

- D Sidwell, on baller number 13
- M Williamson FF/CHF, and teams leading goalkicker
- B Davis, HBF
- C Pettirgrew, on baller/forward

Injuries should not be an uxcuse for losing, i think fitzroy thought they would do it easy and werent ready to play. Nonetheless they are still the best side in the comp and will take some beating come finals. Maybe this is the wake up they needed?

interesting views gtrain. i think you may be right, as westbourne really gave it to the redders on the weekend. are you the xavs full forward with gtrain on his boots? they must be worth a lot of money after that week you bagged 13. clearly a champion
 
My tips for this week...

Bernards will win easily against Rupo

Westbourne will smash a Leos team that think they are bound for the finals

Therry will smash NOBS by 10 goals.

Xavs will cause an upset and beat the Reds by 3 goals.

i wouldnt miss a therry vs nobs clash unless i was on the other side of the world haha

babo has been out for the last two and will probably miss this week aswell, rees should be dropping back from he 1's this week and has only played one under game this season (BOG)

will you be joinin us this week my fellow gift winner? and will nobs field a side? haha

Rupo in a massive upset

Westbourne easily with possible inclusions or sidwell and the angry no.9

Therry to account for nobs with apparent inclusions

Fitzroy to bounce back and destroy Xavs
 
The Reds have been performing at about 75%, they still have about 2-3 more gears left. Without their captain Minnis, top 3 midfielder Dawson-Smith, Archer-like defender Richie and a top notch HFF Halliwell, they have been hit hard.

But they dont make any excuses, once they regain their players, have their other players regain full fitness (Ligris, Cheshire and others), they will be unstoppable.

Chris Ligris is their key.

Their most important player as he has vice-like hands, tremendous speed and a booming kick.

Apparently Carlton have been mentioning his name a couple of times.
 
ligris is very overrated - if he was any good he would've kicked the sealer in the last quarter of the grandfinal last year, running into open goal 25 out - he is a soft hangout!

umm yeah i'd agree not a great year for not a great player - only 2 goals a game in a team that has only dropped 1 game and has dominated teams all year quite an average effort but a highly overrated bloke

he has to learn to lead to the ball instead of hanging out waiting for the easy over the back ball where he gets 99% of his goals from, hangout!

asking this because Fitzroy have played their last couple at Vic and our clubbies are playing their clubbies in the 11am match

could anybody fill me in?
 
tips for this week...

pretty big week...it will probably decide the final four this week.

Xavs by 100 pts over NOBs (Xavs really need to bounce back after last weeks big loss)

De La Salle take on Emmaus St Leos, who will be playing for any chance of finals...should be a good game and but unfortunately for Leo's, De La will be too strong. De La by 2 goals.

Fitzroy to cement their minor premiership with a big win over Therry.
Fitzroy by 60 points.

and....in the match of the round...
Bernards vs Westbourne....this one is interesting, it really depends on which Westbourne is playing...either the giant killing team that defeated Fitzroy or the team that got beaten soundly by Leo's.

Westbourne are playing to keep finals hopes alive so it should be a cracker of a game, Bernards by a point.

finally Rupo to enjoy the week off.
 
apparently xavs are struggling atm wats the go down there - not saying they won't win this week but finals time, first week exit if they make it at all?
