The '88 Celtics were in decline, Bird was having problems with his back, McHale his knees, Parrish was starting to show his age, they did very well to finish top of the East and make the Conference Finals. The '86 Celtics would sweep the current mob, the '88 I'm not so sure.

LMAO – I don’t disagree with you that Robert Parish was starting to show his age but the funny thing was the ‘chief’ was still getting a roster spot on NBA championship sides with the 96/97 Bulls championship unit.

86 Celtics would sweep the 08 Celtics and it would simply turn into a track meet lay up session

Personally I think (like a lot of others) that the 86 Celtics team was probably the best in (modern) history ...

But these comparisons are inevitably pointless as you would never let them play each other at their peak ...
