The 90's were awesome. Born in '78 it was the decade everything happened. Music, Alcohol, Drugs, Sex, just to start. Big memories from the 90's for me:

Nirvana
Street Fighter 2
Terminator 2
Super Nintendo/Megadrive
Jeff Buckley
Seinfeld
Quake
Guns 'n Roses
Nike (esp. Michael Jordan)
Fresh Prince of Bel Air
The Internet
Action Stars (Arnie, Van Damme, Seagal)
Connecting to the Internet with a modem! (cue buzzy/beeping sounds)
The Simpsons
Gary Ablett, Jason Dunstall
South Park
Porcupine Tree (my fav band)
Meeting my wife (had to throw that in!)

And some things that weren't so good
Beavis and Butthead
Basketball fad culture (Chigago Bulls/Charlotte Hornets/baggy pants, etc)
Spice Girls
Boy Bands
Rap/RnB gaining popularity :(

All in all a great decade! The 80's were awesome too. Life just gets harder as you get older! :(

Has anybody mentioned basketball cards???

Priceless memories of trading at primary school. I rippped a kid once and got his jordan card but was forced to give it back by teachers.

^^^
I remember the whole bball card fad went absolutely nuts in '94.

I was in Year 9 and kids from my school were getting busted left, right and centre trying to steal boxes of Upper Deck cards from newsagents etc...it was teenage insanity!!

Remember Beckett magazine? The one that showed how much every basketball card was worth in US dollars? Always wanted to get my hands on the Shaq Rookie Standout card. Was worth a shitload at the time.

Some of my 90's memories:

- Footy stickers, and the treasured metallic sticker.
- Collecting and trading basketball cards.
- NBA merchandise (caps, singlets, jumpers, etc...)
- The fact that I never actually watched a game of basketball (I was a Hornetts fan though).
- Nintendo.
- The Simpsons, FRIENDS, The Footy Show, Amazing, South Park
- Watching Ablett, Dunstall and Lockett kicking 10 every week.
- VicKick (none of this AusKick crap).

As I grew up in the 90's im reminded of coming home and watching all those classic tv shows.
I remember thinking all the kids on A*Mazing were idiots and that I would've found those letters and keys waaaaay quicker. Also I would beat any of em on the playstation challenge.
-side note- bring back the playstation challenge on game day at AFL games

I like most other children enjoyed shows like Round The Twist and became like everyone else ever more confused by the actors portraying the characters and how they seemed to change from episode to episode.
I remember playing Goldeneye for hours on end. I remeber when a guy called Tony Hawk brought out a game and we thought it would be the only one.
The music was less about bitches, hoes and bling and more about working out a hidden meaning of tubthumping, the living end (well it was for me) and whatever ziggazig AH meant.
TimeZone and DarkZone....those were the days. Spending all day getting what seemed like 40 billion tickets, which was just enough to get about a dozen warheads. Which of course you put in your mouth all at once. Also at DarkZone and the odd allnight game....the sort of thing that seemed like a good idea at the time but didnt turn out to be.

and im just getting started......

Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Cartoons on ABC after school, including Rocko's Modern Life & Feral TV, then switching over to watch The Price is Right. Water Rats, Hey Hey, Who Dares Wins & Round the Twist.
A*mazing, especially those bonus rounds where a Game Boy Pocket was up for grabs.
Timbo & Bedders on Triple M, and listening to Martin/Molloy on the way to football training.
GoldenEye007, NBA Jam, Cruzin USA.
The Simpsons + Space Jam Movie Motion Tazos, and AFL sticker books.
Techdecks
Buying Maxibons from the local milk bar for $1 after school.
When U2 came out and played at Waverley on their Popmart tour.
Big time Basketball at the Tennis Centre, and live on Channel 10.
That song Blue by Eiffel 65, that was really popular for about 3 months in late '99

Yeah biggest memory was the cartoons in the arvo.

Even though Ducktales and Chip n dale were created in the late eighties they'd have them on in the mid nineties.

Those with animaniacs, Animals of farthing wood, darkwing duck, the trap door and rockos modern life great times

I was born in 87 and my earliest memories are of around late 91/early 92 I think. I have 'solid' memories from pre-primary in 92 onwards.

Yes, the 90s seemed fun I suppose. The end of the 90s was also sort of symbolic for me too. 99 was my last year of primary school (year 7 here in WA) and 2000 was my first year of high school (year 8 here in WA)! So the end of the millenium represented a big change in my life you could say :p

Who Dares Wins, Man O Man, A*mazing, various ABC cartoons are some of the things I remember. The Simpsons I remember of course.

I remember the 1996 Olympics but I don't remember the 1996 Federal Election :p I also don't remember ever knowing Paul Keating was the PM which is perhaps odd given I have memories back 1991. When Rudd become PM last year it was an odd feeling because as far as my memories were concerned Howard was the only PM I'd ever known - even now it sometimes feels weird!

Other interesting memories but mostly due to being a primary school aged kid more than the mere fact it was the 90s.

Dunno if this has been covered as havn't read all the posts but year 7 for me was 92' so the 90's were kickarse for me and my main memories of after school TV were from the ABC....

1) Degrassi Jnr High -(joey jerimiah and his band zit remedy)
2) That 5 min cartoon "trapdoor" - (excellent theme song)
3) Dangermouse
4) Bananaman -(good old Eric)
5) The henderson kids (that was probably more late 80's)
7) Heartbreak High - (drasic was a dude also some hot chick actors)
