Like any business there's those pro and those against. But yes there are a few that wanted him. And tbh BOABanch, harvey, Konstanty, Dovaston, Spargo, Hansen Jnr.Think it wouldn't be a stretch to rather have VD than say Harvey or Hansen on the list.

I get your point re Harvey or Hansen. Probably throw Fisher in there too. Not sure I'd go as far as rather having VD. Can be quite nasty.

Back to Finn, where are we playing him this year? HB/CHB might be the biggest need given our relatively poor options there but inside midfield though more competitive is surely his longer term home? How we maximise him and McKercher (and try to keep McK from Tassie) will be big influences on how we go in 26 and beyond. We need them to truly breakout.

We've only had 3 x 6min periods of 15 v 15 match sim. Too early to get a read on it yet.

But, if the coaches believe he is ahead of schedule, he might just force a move into the middle.

?

How can you learned gentlezhlobs put Hansen and Harvey is the same category?!

That to me is insanity.

Well let's just say the game is about having ability to cover ground, and if you can't, you're playing the wrong game. FOS can though.

Tell Yas my bet is looking very promising

Just don’t understand calls like this. The Bont is 10cm taller than him. No matter how thick FOS gets, he’s not a Bont-sized human
Negate to some degree is what I said.
He’s a good runner, great one on one, smart with his body positioning - all helpful in the contest.
No worries if you don’t understand.

At least has the ability to negate a player like Bont to some degree. Which we have lacked.
Deleted NWM when he was moved to him (three quarters too late).

Bont a different beast but I’d back him in to curb his influence.

You could just plug and play this guy anywhere.

OK, why wouldn’t LDU be able to negate Bont in that case? He does all of that and is an inch taller.

Bont is a freak, and we don’t have anyone like him. He’s massive, skillful and plays multiple positions. FOS never has and never will have the size to be our Bont.

Personally I’m hoping FOS is our Bartel.

Bartel is exactly the player I had in mind when looking at FOS. FOS maybe more athletic?

Again. I never said that. All I said is he could negate him to some degree. Not that a big statement really.

And LDU is not defensive minded - quite the opposite. FOS is very capable defensively.

“If we are talking tiers of professionalism and dedication, obviously Sheezel is leading the way, but of the younger guys O’Sullivan, Kerch and Hardeman aren’t far behind….don’t let O’Sullivan’s larrikin nature fool you, he lives and breathes this footy club”

Made me very very happy to hear this recently.

It's weird, a lot of the time I get Paul Kelly vibes with less speed but same hardness/toughness at the footy and courage. Then other times see silk Burgoyne, one thing for sure he's going to be a special team first player

He went on a trip to Ireland with a whole heap of people from the western district in the off season. They stopped in for a few pints with my uncle who lives in Kerry, originally from near Koroit, who is close with the O’Sullivans.

He had a good chat with him- said he was very dedicated to Nth and loves the club. Was drinking non-alcohol beers while the rest of the crew were on it big time.

Can somebody please crack this open for me?

TYIA.
Apologies for formatting, I archived it on my phone so it's just the bare bones that've made it into the post, no pictures or anything. It says:

Taken at pick 2 in the draft, you'd think it was safe to assume Koroit export Finn O'Sullivan is the best footballer in his family. You'd be wrong, or at least have to put your argument up for discussion.

Incredibly, the 18-year-old North Melbourne draftee is related to two top-six picks from the past seven years.
It is well-documented that Carlton's Sam Walsh is one of those relations. The midfield superstar, an All-Australian in 2021 after he was drafted to the Blues with pick one in 2018, is a second cousin of Finn.

Sam's grandmother Camperdown's Margaret Sinnott and Finn's grandmother Camperdown's Helen O'Sullivan are sisters. If you dig deeper, however, you find another connection to a rising star of the AFL.

The mother of Margaret and Helen - the late Mary Conheady (nee O'Keeffe) - was the sister of the late Maggie Lee (nee O'Keeffe). Mary and Maggie were from Glenormiston.

Maggie's daughter, Terang's Catherine Humphrey - the first cousin of Margaret and Helen - had a grandson born in 2004, who was raised in Moe.
In 2022, that grandson - Bailey Humphrey - was selected at pick six in the AFL draft by the Gold Coast Suns.
Bailey - the third cousin of Finn and Sam - is a powerful midfielder/forward viewed as one of the most exciting young players in the league.
He has played 40 games in two seasons and is contracted with the Suns until the end of the 2028 campaign.

Still, the connections to top-level football don't end there for Finn.
Mary Conheady and Maggie Lee's brother, the late Patrick O'Keeffe, had a son named Kevin, who played 92 games for Fitzroy in the VFL between 1973 and 1992.

The new draftee's grandfather on his mother's side, Murrie Batt, also reached the elite ranks, playing 12 games for Collingwood between 1975 and 1978.

Finn also has a second cousin named Aidan Conheady - the grandson of Helen O'Sullivan and Margaret Sinnott's brother, Michael Conheady - who is making waves in another sport. Aidan is currently in New Zealand representing the Australian men's under 17 netball side and is also a talented footballer with Camperdown.

SHIIIIT!

Imagine hanging from one of the twigs of that massive family tree, the twig breaks but you didn’t fall into some sporting endeavour.
