I'm unable to come up with the goods, can someone give me the in and outs from GF 2002 against tommorrow's team.

We had the youngest or second youngest list in the league in 2002.

It's plucked my curiosity since Mick said on FoxFooty, "Guys like McKee, Freeborn, Betheras gave you 100%, altho lacking in skill, their commitment to the team cause... blah blah" or very similar, seems to be what has cost us our aspirations.

Why are we no closer (in fact further) to a flag after a developing list?????

PS Don't start with Mick

Curto, I was real bored so I thought I put this together in response to your question.

The 2002 GF team was this: (not exactly sure on where they lined up and correct me if i'm wrong)

B: Johnson Presti Clement
HB: Lonie Wakelin Lockyer
C: Steinfort Buckley O'Bree
HF: Betheras Rocca Freeborn
F: Didak Tarrant N.Davis
F: Fraser Burns Licuria
I: McKee Scotland L.Davis Molloy

compared to tonight's team:

B: O'Bree Presti Clement
HB: Maxwell Wakelin Swan
C: Woewodin Buckley Holland
HF: Caracella T.Cloke Lockyer
F: Didak Tarrant C.Cloke
F: Fanning Burns Licuria
I: Egan Rusling Lonie Rowe

There are 11 changes from the team, 3 (or 4 if you include L.Davis) forced by injury.

so the out's are:
McKee, Betheras, Scotland, L.Davis, N.Davis, Molloy, Freeborn, Steinfort, Johnson, Fraser, Rocca

and the in's
Egan, Rusling, Rowe, Maxwell, Swan, Woewodin, Holland, Caracella, T.Cloke, C.Cloke, Fanning

I would say that I prefer the team tonight over the 2002 team due to the presence of some talented youngsters that have potential to be stars rather than working class players. The 2002 team was a great working class team, however I feel that we are moving towards a flag quicker than we might except as shown with glimpses of what is to come over the past month. Although we have gone backwards in the last two years, a step that all pies fans didn't expect and what to see happen, it has advantaged us in the long run with a good blend of youth now in the team. So Curto I don't agree that we are further away from a flag, we just got closer with the 2002/2003 teams than what we might've expected.

Youngest "list" is an overated way of rating a teams youngsters. If you look at the average age of every teams "list" the youngest and the oldest list are only seperated by 1 year and a bit. The youngest team should be the average age of players who have played, or are getting a regular game.
