Welcome to 2002 - I can hardly wait for the Lions to play Essendon, in fact I am disappointed that there are 14 other teams to play as well. I could do with 22 rnds of Lions v Bombers. Heaping crap on Bombers supporters gave me a whole new perspective on life.
So the incredibly boring Jeff Farmer Cup is coming to a close & we are anticipating the real stuff.
1. From my 15 min foray footy looks the same on Ch 9 as it did on Ch 7 & the commentators are just as boring.
2. All the hyped up "this player will win us a premiership" pre season trading & publicity crap is over - thank god - & the crap teams in 2001 are still crap in 2002 & the 2001 good teams are still good in 2002.
3. Danni's been busy hunting up all the good goss - no second hand stuff here! - great to see that Lefal is willing to openly give Bubba a caning, it might be what he needs.
4. Someone young & female & not from the right school/club/ business address failed to win a place on the board - good on her for trying anyway.
5. The GG's problems became the clubs problems by proxy - what do you expect from a press who writes for a comprehension age of a pre schooler.
6. After an appearance at the Gabba people are hand wringing about a certain Gold Coast teenager who plays for that pathetic beachside club in Melbourne. I have been wailing over that lost opportunity for what seems like decades. Trade him for Daniel Bradshaw next year.
7. Dale Lewis was employd by the AFL to get footy in the news right before the start of the season.
8. Aka hasnt fallen off his bike (yet)
9. Somewhere in a Chinese sweat shop - someone is busily making Lions AFL Premiers 2002 caps & T shirts!
