I got o response on the main forum so i thought id try my luck here would like to get peoples opinions.

Adelaide - Top class all round side. Need Midfield to stay
un-injured but quiet players like goodwin make the team looks good Ruck is a little weakness as if Clarke is injured it suddenly looks a little ominous but midfeild should be good enough to deal with all major problems. Class back line if somewhat aged should be able to keep opposition to a getable score. top 5ish

Brisbane - All star side that rises to most occasions quality midfeilder and Backs maybe a small question over full forward lynch cant jsut keep going but still their midfeild alone will score enough to get them to the finals plus the johnothon brown infulence 2-6

Carlton - I dont like Carlton did well in the recruiting period but hard to see them moving ahead this year id say with draft restrictions gone and a likley bottom 6 finish a few good young kids will see them on the rise 2005ish 10-16

Colingwood - Quality Side midfeild works for each other much like the weagles of the mid 90s look the goods Rocca is a key Member to this side as they have very few quality tall forwards. Interesting to see if Morrision will make a difference later in the season. (nice picks ups in draft the shaws are a steal) 1-6

Essendon - Quiet Acheivers. They have a lot of depth wheather its quality or not is yet to be seen Age gap between the Keys Hird Lloyd Fletcher and Wellmen is large but with a good injury run likley to see them again feature come finals time. James Hird and Mathew Lloyd Fit will get Essendon to the finals, Once their Essendon will strugle if they have to traval for the first final (4-8) as i doubt they can win it and if they do i dont think they can win a return. 4-10

Fremantle - Quality young list top young players like Haselby Pavleich Medhurst and a host more quality captain in Bell need to learn to win away from WA if they do that a real contender 4-8

Geelong - I like their list i have to say quality youth in the midfeild in Ling Ablett and Enright with Corey Bartel and others coming through a top backline with milburn running and Harley and Scarlet capable of closing down the best forward lines, question lies in their ability to kick a winning score 6-16

Hawthorn - Have reached the so called window of oppotunity i dont really rate them as a true finals contender but if Crawford and most esspecially Croad and Everitt fire they are more than capable of giving most sides a shake 6-12

Kangaroos - Great mentality at the club with a Top quality midfeild but they are not as good as the teams of the late 90's and it shows their forward line doesnt really have the quality and their back line is starting to show its teeth but with youth like Motlop and Wells they future looks bright 9-14

Demons - Well they had a good draft, picked up 2 quality players but they need to find a full back of some quality their ruckmen white in particlar has to have a good year. Neitz is dependable to kick 50-70 goals but they need Robertson and Green to kick 40ish between them to be in with a show on the year up year down cycle i would say they would sneek in but i just cant see it happening 10-16

Port Adelaide - Quality side the loss of Nick stevens wont hurt them to badly because he didnt win them the close ones. They appear to be vulnerable to the "take it easy" bug as geelong showed them up earlier in 2003 but on the whole a quality side. If primus and tredrea fire they are in with a chance in any game and the brothers united (cornes and burgoynes) only going to improve i would say top 8 definate top 4 probable 1-6

Richmond - Ageing squad but some real quality thier a full year from Richo and Tivendale and the rest of the Leadership 6 will see them in good-sted bowden needs to improve to make himself into a real quality player rather than the hanger he is at the moment Couglan is quality. 9-15

St Kilda - Best young list in the comp tallent coming out their nose midfeild with the likes of Harvey and Hayes with youth of the calibre of Ball Dal Santo Goddard the Clarkes Reiwoldt Kozie the list just grows... the only question lies in the ruck where quality like King Primus and Gardiner are sure to hurt them. But a real quality side 6- 9

Swans - Quality coach top group of players who work for each other. If Goodes doesnt suffer from brownlowit'es then it looks good for them Jarrid Mcveigh is an absolute champion likely to get a game next year a top quality forward line with Hall and O'lochlan will see them kick winning scores they will need Shauble and Sadington fit though because they key backs appears to be a small weekness. With ball to return from injury it looks good for the swans 4-8

West Coast - quality youth quality Midfield, lacks strength up forward and down back will be interesting to see how they deal with a percieved lack of height in both areas but with Kerr Cousins fletcher and others on song very few midfeilds will stand up to them. As always the question of weather they can win away must be asked 4-10

Bulldogs - Quality draft pick i question Farren Ray as pick 4 but thats been and done, picking up rawlings is a step in the right direction but i cant see it getting better quickly for the Dogs a injury to either West of Johnson would be absolutly devastating but with Chris Grant come back they may be able to make some improvment. Dogs also need to learn how to win games, the loss of players like Libba who new how to slow the game down hold onto tackles force ball ups and stopages would have won the dogs 2 or 3 games this/last year (2003) they will need to learn that to make any signicicant improvment on ladder bottom 4

Most believe the Hawks will finish either outside the 8 or if they make the 8 in the bottom half, and just make up the numbers. I suppose if you are an Essendon supporter its fair enough, because they have managed to destroy Hawthorn year in year out.

I suppose the 01 prelim was a lucky escape for the Dons. Injuries to Barker and Dixon on the day really hurt the Hawks. Besides 01 signalled the end of Essendon for atleast 5 years. Essendon will be up again contesting the premiership by 06, 07 -- as we have noticed since 01, they are slowly slipping away. However rest assured Bomber fans, you'll be back. Sheedy is a marvel

Nevertheless, it would be foolish not to include Hawthorn in the top four this year if the key players have injury free pre-seasons. Beware the Hawks in 04

Foolish Lol

Worry about making the eight first. With your soft draw it should hapen though.

I worry about the Hawks Ability to go injury free, when you look at it the Key players are injury prone, plus there replacemnt for Rawlings is Croad who it must be said is unlikley to match Rawlings 2003 in 2004.
ill admit the Hawks may well make the 8 but top 4 my arse.
