We are starting to see some of our '2004' traits again.

Has anyone noticed our 'kamikaze' tackling and physical pressure? This was our strength in 2004. We seem to be back to it. Guys like Johnson and Kelly, who have notoriously been labelled as lazy (and rightly so at times too), are chasing like here is no tomorrow. Our forward line pressure is unbelievably good. Example: Those holding the ball decisions in our forward line early.

It is times like these, no matter what anyone says about Geelong, no matter what our recent history indicates, we can chuck on our jumper and scarf and proudly say we support Geelong. Because we are tough.

We are playing better than 2004 at the moment IMO

This team is better on all fronts IMHO.

Have better ruck stocks
Have a functioning forward line
and out defense actually creates now

Yes, a great feeling.

When you think about it, its been the first time in years Johnson and Kelly et al have been able to do a full preseason, so they're fit. Also with everyone else fit anyone who's even a little bit lazy can get dropped just to be taught a lesson- how long has it been since we could that!

Maybe we should start up a book on the first Cat to get bollocked out and sent to the magoos, Bomber must be gagging for the opportunity.

I've got a fiver and I'm putting it on Tenace

Was thinking exatly the same thing ater the game, the ferocity at the contest which took the team so far in 04 is back. But this time, to go with it, there's much slicker use of that hard won ball, and a much more potent forward line to convert the hard won posession into goals. Being Geelong, you just don't know how long it will last, but for now, I'm enjoying the ride.

back in 2004 geelong wood have lost that game against the saints, not cause it was the saints but the way geelong was handling the pressure from the
saints coming back at geelong. great first quarter from the cats .the saints hit back in the second and they hit back hard the 2004 geelong wood have cracked but this 2007 side is a stronger, tougher side and it was great to is geelong stand up to the pressure and comebacks from the saints go cats

Hmmm, I remember us standing up the Saints at Geelong in 2004.

I don't remember many, if any, instances of the 2004 side cracking under pressure.

Exactly, the 2004 Saints threw everything they had at us that day and the Cats came through with the win.

Our 2007 ruck division is only slightly better than the 2004 one as well. :p
Let me throw some names at you:
2004 - King, Chambers, Loats :o
2007 - Ottens, Blake, King :D
