Interesting year , I had the boys down for 5-8 and they floated around those posistions for much of the year , not really suprised at our final posistion. The lowlight for me came early , a 96 point humiliation was a shocking way to start. Bouncing back in round 3 was one of the highlights, what a game !! 8.0 straight though and to let the Eages back in probably summed up our season.
We had a few teams at our mercy but always seemed to let them back in, it sort of looked like " here you go boys you have a go"....this happened v w.coast , v the vomit on Anzac Day , the swannies at the G , The pups, The Crows , Freo, Port (2nd time around).
My highlights would be beating the scum of the earth twice to continue our recent domination over them, the navy filth once , the Eagle win at the dome, Adelaide away, Hawfforn drawing a line in the sand, paid up ,passionate, proud and pumped, Port at the Dome and finally that brilliant win over 5 th placed melbourne in the final. There have been 6 finals so far and one classic, well done Dons, the others have been fairly ordinary.
Apart from the Port thumping in Round One, I`d say the next bad one was the norf game, most of our losses, we were beaten without having much of a sniff, the norf one was one we threw away, shocker.
Some players....I`ve loved Murph`s season, I`ve loved Matty Allans, I love it how carlton fans refuse to acknowledge their good seasons, absolute bargains those two, they quite rightly should ask for a pay rise. Fingers crossed on Cupes, he needs a pre-seaon like i need a tattslotto win, he played a few games , made a few contests and then looked completely stuffed, big summer for the silky one coming up. Smokey should win the b&F, could be another tie with The Captain, Freo, how could you ?
