Watched the replay on Foxtel yesterday.

Damn our midfield was amazing, Kerr was outstanding and IMO very close to the Norm Smith. Fletcher was brilliant back then also, a pity he's fallen off so badly since then.

While the Chick goal was good, I remember the Steve Armstrong goal was my favorite goal that day. Good times

Loved the piece of play where kerr traps the ball on the half volley and squeezes a low pass on his left to lynchy who then goes back and punches one from about 60 meters out on a 45 degree angle.

Brillant

I was there.

Were you?

Yep it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life:) I had my eyes closed for probably the last 60 seconds at least I think, saying go siren go over and over.. The siren sounds we've done it....F***ing fantastic :DStanding on our seats dancing and trying to sing with an already non existent voice...unforgetable:thumbsu: As we were flying home straight after the GF the other half was running amok in the airport, god it was funny, telling every person he saw that he had the cup in his bag. Stupid idiots at check in nearly banned us from the plane as we were so happy they thought we were completely blind:D Well we kind of were, but it is amazing how sober you can quickly become when you think that your not going home to the party we new was waiting for us. Our mates organized a limo to pick us up at the airport that night as a suprise and we partied all night until 9.00am...:D

It's funny watching the Hawks celebrate I keep getting all goosey for them and actually lost my voice yesterday cheering for them. I felt none of that for the Cat's last year, although I admire their ability tremendously:confused: Maybe old rivalries never really die:rolleyes:

HaHaHa I was at that Punt ROad big screen thing and I was running around hammered - running around through all the families on their rugs screaming "OH MY GOD BLOW THE ****ING SIREN!" then "SIREN!" and I just remember getting to the front of the big screen and being hugged about 20 blokes in Eagles stuff just all hugging each other rilling around - it was awesome! :D:thumbsu:

2008 was cr@p.

I went to the 05 one and it crushed me. Had to goto china for work during the 06 finals my bro got tickets... he still talks about the game and the siren going today.

same and same :mad::thumbsd:

Just had to be in Melbourne for it in 06 just in case we won.

I spent the week in Melbourne in 05 and like everyone else was shattered by the result. In 06 I did the trip (by myself) from Perth in 24 hours - left after midnight and arrived back home just after midnight. It was an amazing 24 hours and watching these videos brings it all back.. can't wait for 2010! :)

Same here. I didnt feel happy for Geelong in 2007, because they just seemed so cocky last year and this year. I was sick to death of them. I wanted them to lose so bad - thats more why I was cheering for Hawthorn. And I got chills for them at the final siren. Not like 2006 of course:(

Like many here, during and after the Hawks win, I partied like like it was 2006. Everybody I know that isnt a Geelong supporter were cheering for the hawks, was an awesome day! Even more reason to keep supporting our boys during these couple of bottom years!!

Yeah me too, Geelong got up my nose like a lot of people, and it's funny how quick the handbag title get's thrown about when Geelong lost:p

I couldn't begin to compare 2006 to any other GF, unless it's 92 or 94 :)06 is my sweetest of all because I was there and because I was sober enough to remember it all without watching it again the next day:p

I also was glad the lesser of the two evils won on the weekend, but goddamn we were good in 2006. We were better than good, we were really good. Perhaps even really, really good.

To this day I attribute my hatred of work as stemming from being forced to during the last half. Thank god for VCRs.

I don't understand... when you found out you had to work you didn't quit???!!?

I felt it might have been a bit premature to quit before my first shift. Instead I went but spent the day mentally combusting people I suspected of being Fremantle or Sydney supporters (if they were crying it was a big hint). It just wasn't the same though.

yes...

I drove over, did you?

I still have the remainder of the ticket hanging on my wall next to the preliminary final ticket from the week before in SA...seems like a life time ago! I've never been so nervous in my life, it was the best roller-coaster ride I've ever been on.

Nah flew over Virgin Blue with tickets booked the Tuesday before the big day.
