Theyve changed the distance of the PE (now 1500) & Hayes says its "too far 1st up"
So she runs in a real race 1st up at 1400m & no longer gets the 3yo weight.
ES & Harada in the noms so "she'll still be a run behind then"

Either way they dont appear to be brimming with confidence.
If she runs shorter than $10 on the CP day it will be the weakest CP ever IMO

i think the nsw horses are better than doubtful to make it over now.

if racing really does get screwed up here in sydney for a month i reckon they'll try to get the topliners (mentality, rtw, eremein etc) over to melb in the next couple of weeks and put on a revised schedule.

still, not sure id want to be backing them in the big ones after such a disruption

Miss Finland is going to be some seriously short odds for the Cox Plate now. Might be worth backing the others now :) although they're probably short odds too considering it's early September.

Only more confident about Marasco winning now, sit and sprint jogfest today just meant that the horse in the right position in the run wins and proves nothing as a form reference - supported by the fact that Tipungwuti finished so close up. Look at how far the Cat and Marasco spaced their rivals by in the Liston. As a form reference, I know which one I want to follow.

I was initially amazed at some of the sectionals run but the overall time run was disgraceful so even average horses broke the clock over the last 600 so treating them with a grain of salt now.

Hate to think how far Apache Cat would have won that race by today

Beadman will ride Marasco next week at HQ,assuming NSW jocks are cleared to ride.

Surely no-one thinks that Apache Cat is anywhere near Miss Finlands league? Apache would get the white blown off his face when she wooshed passed.

Betfair market after todays racing

MARASCO $3.75
MF $4.4
ES $5.4
HARADA $9
ZIPPING $17
B MONDAY $27
A CAT $27
EFFICIENT $27

I assume Zipping will have to win a Gp 1 to get a run.
Anyone know if Blue Monday has won a GP 1?

how will marasco be able to handle mv if he cant handle the turn at caulfield?

Its weird, they talk about MV being tight & hard to handle but I cant remember a top horse who didnt get around there.
KT was terrible at Caulfield but managed 3 Cox Plates, despite not handling it.
