we have essendon in the first round of the NAB Cup

Very happy with the draw actually - not going to be fighting for a top 4 spot, so the fact we have a toughish run home dosnt worry me.

We only have one real low drawing game towards the end of the season - kangaroos (rd21). The lower drawing games earlier on in the year should still bring in ok crowds, just to watch the youngens if nothing else.

Good draw, tougher in the second half of the season... One game I would love to see us win is St Kilda in round 6 on Friday night, they have handed us far too many beatings recently.

Good draw about time we got a Home game in Rd1. The only problem is 2 travels in a row rd 15 & rd 16 Sydney & Brisbane.

My parents, and most of my extended family all follow St Kilda, and I am sick and tired of being on the receiving end of ridicule since the days of Waverly Park in the early 90's, and it has only gotten worse in the last few seasons.
They must have the highest aggregate winning margin against us in the last 5 seasons of any club I reckon.
If we can't beat them at least once next season I will truly be in despair.

I cannot believe that we have to play twice in Perth yet again. I think this would have to make it five seasons in a row going back to 2003. No wonder they are overtaking us in the win/loss department.

Yeah I agree.. 6 interstate games (of which 2 are in a row SCG then to Gabba), and precious C'wood WTF!!!

out of the victorian teams who dont play home games interestate, we travel the most - 6, with ess 5, rich 5, stk 5, coll 4

that sux considering we're the 16th team.

The teams we play twice are:

Brisbane
Collingwood
Melbourne (woohoo!!)
Kangaroos
Essendon (woohoo!)
St Kilda (d'oH!!)
Port

So at least we avoid playing Swans, Eagles, Dockers and Crows twice.

On balance I think it's a pretty good draw for us. There is a tough run in the middle of the season, but that's a hell of a lot better than a tough run at the start of the season.

I would think if we're smart the Brisbane-Sydney double can be mitigated by not going back to Melbourne in between.

We we start winning again, they will take collingwood's other away game and give it to whoever is stuggling at that point. Probably Essendon.

It has certainly been a while, that's for sure.
A win over the Tigers first up would be a great kick start to 2007.
That is what I thought after round 1 this season:mad:

Totally agree with you guys, thanks AFL for rewarding us with 6 interstate trips (2 in Perth and 2 in Queensland).

Just make sure you look after Collingwood with 18 Melbourne games so Eddie dosn't get upset.

Have broken up the fixture like this:

2 Friday Night games at TD

4 Saturday Day games at MCG
3 Saturday Day games at TD
1 Saturday Day game at AAMI
1 Saturday Day game at Subiaco
3 Saturday Night games at TD
1 Saturday Night game Carrara (GC)

2 Sunday Day games at MCG
1 Sunday Day game at SCG
1 Sunday Day ganme at Gabba
1 Sunday Day game at Subiaco
2 Sunday Twilight games at MCG

We travel interstate 6 times, although one of those is against the Kangaroos on the Gold Coast

We play Brisbane, St.Kilda, Collingwood, Port, Essendon, Kangaroos and Melbourne twice.

The second half of the draw is tougher, particularly having to travel to WA to play Fremantle in round 13, to Sydney in round 15, and Brisbane in round 16.

Save up your money, or your frequent flyer points peoples, there could be some road trips in 2007.
