Obviously we have had some curse with our leaders. Personally I dont rate Harley as our leader. Who do you beleive should lead our players to go back to back in 2008:D and why

Whos been our skipper for virtually the whole season...?
And who has led us to 2nd on the ladder.....?
And who never misses a match through suspension, or injury?

I am always of the thought that the Captain should be out of the top 5 players in the squad. For me it is out of

Ling
Bartel
Chapman
Gazza
Scarlett

But honestly I think Harley will be Captain again next year

I rate Harley as captian, and i think the players do to, hopefully he gets himself right cause i think the team is better with him. If he wasnt captain i would give it to Chappy or Moons, to tough nuts, who have a red hot go on and off the paddock.

Give it to Cam mooney! His really pulled himself together and deserves the oppertunity IMO. or ling as he has been doing a great job :D

Harley is our best leader - easily.

Problem is, he is frequently injured.

Next I would have Chapman or Ling.

Spot on, captain and vice right there. As good a leader as Ling is there's one major thing he lacks (and no, it's not about his looks even though the captains do get their fair of mug shots!!) but Chappy has it. It's the ability to turn a game on it's ear with shear brilliance. A purple patch that claims victory from the jaws of defeat. Hird, Judd, Voss, Carey, Bucks they all have or had it. The ability to inspire one's team through on field performance is bigger, better and more important than being able to speak fluently within media circles. Think Hirdy's last 15 mins v West Coast a few years back, the effort of Voss in the last quarter of the 2002 Granny, Carey in just about any situation except for the bathroom, all inspired victory (even the bathroom one sort of).

That's one thing that Tommy Harley also lacks. He is rock solid and has had the better of a lot of forwards over the course of his career but he's not one that will turn a game. Keep him in the leadership group by all means but I think Chappy has to get the gig next year. Plays with heart, passion and a never give in attitude but on top of that he has shown that he can be a match winner, whether on ball or up forward.

Leadership, communication, man-management, handling the media, respect.

Leadership - elaborate.

Communication - on field or off field?

Man-management - Huh? He isn't a coach.

Handling the media - Agree.

Respect - Agree.
