2008 draftees

Would i be right in assuming that we are only club that has not had a debutant this season from this draft intake, due to injuries and other reasons i realise. My point being how can outside experts really know the state of our list ie BT Bloody Turkey Brian Taylor without these guys showing their wares.

Bulldogs i dont think have either.

But with all 3 of our draftees bottom-aged it's tough for us to put them in (if they were uninjured i mean) as they more than likely wouldnt be physically ready for the senior level. I know Johnston wouldnt have been ready til perhaps the end of the year if fit. Hanners could be different.

Draftees report for the day: Saw them when I was going to get a pie. LJ was trying to wrestle a bottle of fanta or something off Campbell Heath and said something like "Give it to me, you'll get fatter if you drink this". To Soup's credit he held onto his fanta and LJ had to go buy his own.

Also saw Hanners demolishing a pie. That kid is sure as shit ready to mix it with men and on that note, Jesus ******** Christ, LJ is a man mountain. I couldn't believe how tall and wide he was.

Depends on your definition of draft intake. From the national draft perhaps but technically we have, Thornton was a rookie draft 2008 and Pyke was too so we wont be given a prize for that.

However BT watched all Lewis and Gilchrist games in the reserve and has followed Dan Closely playing Xavier and just knows Campbell's just not going to amount to anything.

Hanners has impressed Roosy greatly so far in his time in the 2's and could be in line for a run in the seniors if the timing of school and senior games falls into place.

From the sounds of that, as long as injuries dont trouble him, he should be a starter for round 1 next year. Lew Johnston if he impresses in the pre season could do the same, so we could see 2 of our 3 draftees starting from round 1 in 2010. Good sign for the future.
