The 7km Prologue was last night, results...

1 CONTADOR Alberto (Astana) 6.8 km in 8:34 (47.6 km/h)
2 VAN GARDEREN Tejay (HTC-Columbia) + 0:02
3 BRAJKOVIC Janez (Radioshack) + 0:05
4 THOMAS Geraint (Team Sky) + 0:10
5 CATALDO Dario (Quick Step) + 0:12
6 PAURIOL Rémi (Cofidis)
7 MALORI Adriano (Lampre)
8 GRETSCH Patrick TEAM (HTC-Columbia) + 0:13
9 MARTENS Paul (Rabobank)
10 COPPEL Jérôme (Saur-Sojasun) + 0:14

How on earth is anyone going to beat Alberto. Rivals are all already 10s behind, Menchov 24 behind.

They won't basically.

Well he said he would be riding cautiously, hoping to peak for the Tour like last year. Hasn't been riding great so far this year, who knows.

I like this Tour. Short, sharp, a bit of something for everyone with a 50km TT. Last 4 days in the mountains, hopefully it can provide so quality riding and not just a Contador demolition.

Talking about 'mechanical' doping...

Commentators believe there is way too many stakes on the line for it to be happening. Too many people involved for it to not be leaked.

Great win by Haedo. Came flying down the outside and squeezed through the smallest gap on the barriers.

Wow, what a stage on Alpe d'Huez. Contador tried to do everything he could to crack Brakjovic but he couldn't. Szmyd rode very well also, he is a great rider. Jani made it look easy replying to Contador's accelerations. Alberto doesn't seem 100% but still it's a fair achievement by the young TT specialist.

Special mention to Horner, such a great fella, helped Van Garderen, fellow American over the last 2km. Not on his team but saw he was struggling and keep Van Garderen in 3rd position overnight.

Twice now Brakjovic has made it look easy to hold the wheel. The massive head winds wouldn't have been doing Contador any favours mind you.

If Contador is riding like this now, then no one should bother showing up in July. He is going to kick everyone's arse and by minutes.

He is here for training and not even in peak form and he was still putting in lots of accellerations on a steep climb and never looked bothered. He's going to destroy everyone in July!
