Firstly, a massive, massive thank you to thomas_m18 for providing last week's preview while I was away interestate. I think we can all agree that his work BigFooty’s SuperCoach forum this year has been nothing short of brilliant, so it didn’t surprise me at all when he agreed to cover for me while I was away. Definitely my nominee for rookie poster of the year!

On to this week, I've got a jam-packed preview in store for you guys, with all the regulars, plus a massive section on the Michael Barlow trade that over 200,000 SuperCoachers will have to face between now and lock-out.

Captain's Corner
These are the blokes who are mostly likely to perform for you, should you decide to put the big 'C' next to their name (stats do not include pre-season or finals scores):
1. Gary Ablett Jnr. (GEEL)
2010 ave: 135, ave against Hawthorn: 136 (Since the start of 2007)
Who else? His recent Supercoach form may have taken a dip from his usual high standards with 106 and 97 in the past 3 weeks, but you can't deny his form against the Hawks, with scores of 128, 139, 162 & 113 in his last four outings. When in doubt, little Gazza's your man.
2. Chris Judd (CARL)
2010 Ave: 123, average against the Bulldogs: 134 (Since the start of 2005)
I hesitantly put Judd at number 2, given that his bigger scores against the Dogs came about when he was at the Eagles. Between the start of 2005 and becoming a Carlton player, the Juddster pumped out scores of 100, 173, 136, 165 and 172 (ave 149), however since joining the boys down at Visy park, his record has been less than flattering; registering scores of 75 & 117. Shouldn't let you down though.
3. Aaron Sandilands (FRE)
2010 Ave: 123, average against Richmond: 132 (Since the start of 2009)
I used to feel a bit funny about giving the captaincy to a ruckman, but big Sandi has eased my concerns somewhat, to the extent that, if Ablett wasn't an AFL player, I'd be more than happy for the 211cm giant to be leading my team. Since the start of 2009, the big guy has pumped out 145 and 119 against the Tiges.
4. Nick Dal Santo (STK)
2010 Ave: 115, Ave against Brisbane: 130 (Since start of 2005)
One of SuperCoach's most consistent performers, Nicky Dal has loved playing against the Lions over the years, where his performances have included scores of 137, 173, 170 & 152. One concerning thing however, is the fact that his last two performances have amounted to scores of 67 & 87. Given the Lions' form of late, I wouldn't put a big performance past the young Saint.
5. Dane Swan (COLL)
2010 Ave: 121, Ave against Port: 122 (166, 118, 118, 100, 107 since start of 06)
Probably should be higher on this list, given his recent form (scoring 173 and 163 in the last 3 weeks), and his general upward prgression of scores against Port 107, 100, 118, 118 and most recently 166. Will probably keep the VC for my team. Absolute, dead-set star!!
Smokies - keen to roll the dice against a weaker opponent this week?
Simon Goodwin (ADE)
2010 ave: 95, ave against WC: 121 (From last 5 games) (Scores of 139, 72, 163, 91, 138 & 95 since start of 2005)
Brett Deledio (RICH)
2010 Ave: 100, average against Freo: 116 (From last 4 games), 128 (From last 2 games) (Scores of 121, 134, 99, 109 since the start of 2008)
Others to consider:
Selwood – 2010 ave: 112, ave against Haw: 122 (Scores of 95, 185, 71, 138 since the start of 2008)
Bartel – 2010 ave: 106, ave against Haw: 121 (Scores of 128, 109, 99, 153, 165, 66, 123, 116 since start of 2005)
Cox – 2010 ave: 87, ave against Ade: 115 (Scores of 83, 146, 134, 128, 110, 87 since start of 2005)
N. Riewoldt – 2010 ave: 117, ave: against Bris 121 (Scores of 115, 71, 109, 152, 202, 80 since the start of 2005)
Tuck – 2010 Ave: 108, average against Freo: 111 (Scores of 123, 102, 155, 78, 78, 151, 95, 108 since start of 2005)
Pavlich – 2010 Ave: 104, average against Rich: 115 (Scores of 112, 80, 113, 152, 116 since the start of 2006)
Murphy – 2010 Ave: 109, average against WB: 117 (Scores of 105, 119, 127 since the start of 2007)
Boyd – 2010 Ave: 109, average against CARL: 122 (Scores of 133, 111 since the start of 2008)

Heath Shaw - $426,200 (Ave. 95), B/E: 27
Mentioned in last weeks preview, still cheap as chips and has managed to string together two 100+ games, albeit against Sydney and West Coast. Averaged 112 in his last 8 games last year, and plays for a side that will be a strong contender for a top 4 spot. Now might just be the time to jump on the Magpie defender. Then again, there's this bloke....
Brad Symes - $425,300 (Ave. 91), B/E: 49
Not the first name that comes to mind when looking at Upgrade targets, but ol' mate Symszie does have a pretty respectable record when it comes to SuperCoach. Averaged 89 in 2006, 86 in 2008 and from three games this year, he's produced scores 85, 126 & 63 for an average of 91. Would be a very unique pick, as only .29% of teams currently have him, and just looking at who he plays in rounds 20-22, the lad's numbers stack up pretty well (most recent scores first);
R20 - Brisbane; 92 & 95 (ave 94)
R21 - Collingwood; 125, 89, 71 & 75 (ave 90)
R22 - St Kilda; 58, 93, 96, 138 & 114 (ave 100)
Would take some fairly sizeable minerals to bring him in, but really, not a bad choice for D7 at all. Go on, I dare you!
Others to consider: Sam Gilbert $468,100 & Paul Duffield $435,800
New Kid on the Block
Andrew Strijk - $83,400 (Ave. 55)
To be honest, don't know a lot about this bloke, and haven't watched any recent Eagles games, so here's the Bio from AFL.com.au:
Midfielders
Op Shop
Matt Priddis - $544,900 (Ave. 109), B/E: 162
Had this guy in the review a couple of weeks ago as someone who had flown under the radar, and NOW is the time to get aboard!! He may have pumped out a 54 against the Dogs a couple of weeks ago, but taking that away, his record is exceptional. 9/14 scores over 109+ (his average), with 6 of those over 120
. Even when he doesn't attain his average, he hardly puts in a poor game (86, 92, 83 & 87). Still only in 1.37% of teams. I will be replacing Barlow with one of Priddis, Murphy or Judd. Might want to wait a week given his high breakeven of 162 this week.
Lenny Hayes - $498,400 (Ave. 102), B/E: 104
$131,400 down on his Round 1 price, but here's the info I want you to see:
Averaged 115 in his last eight games last year (2009);
Averaged 110 in his las eight games the year before (2008); and
Averaged 124 in his las eight games the year before that (2007).
And you can pick him up for under $500k this week!!
If I told you at the start of the year you could have Lenny Hayes as your 6th Midfielder, you would've taken it right? So why not now? Plus, you can use the $160k on another area of your team.
New Kid on the Block

Kurt Tippett - $431,100 (Ave 70), B/E -6
Really? This guy? The bloke who got our hopes up at the start of the year only to drop $150k and average 49 through the first nine rounds of the season? Yep, that's the one....
Well, looks like the 201cm, 100kg Queenslander has remembered how to play footy, pumping out scores of 113, 115, 118 and a career-high 153 last week, to average 106 since Round 10. With a B/E of -6, it'll only take one more big week for him to slip out of your grasp. So if you're willing to give him another go, make it this week.
Others to consider: Paddy Ryder $462,900 & Shane Mumford $446,800
New Kid on the Block
Jordan Roughead - $100,200 (Ave. 52)
No real reason to burn trades on ruckman at this point of the year. Can't see JR maintaining his spot with Minson on the sidelines to come back in. but hey, if you want to bank the $112,000 you made with Warnock, go for it.

Dale Thomas - $463,100 (Ave. 95), B/E: 102
Can't stand the bloke, but he's stepped it up this year, and could be the consistent, durable F7 you've been looking for. 9/14 scores between 82 and 98, three scores over 120, while the other two were a 68 and 70. Reasonably cheap at just over $450k, has played every game and has a B/E of 102.
Rob Murphy - $343,000 (Ave. 71)
Love that this guy is back playing good footy, pumping out 80+ scores. Averaging 88 over the past three weeks, playing across half-back. The dogs have a pretty good run home, playing Carlton, Port, Fremantle, North Melbourne, Adelaide, Geelong, Sydney & Essendon between now and the finals.

First, a quick tribute:

Games: 14
SC Average: 116
SC High Score: 151 (twice)
SC Low Score: 53 (vs. Geelong)
SC Scores: 151, 139, 53, 83, 132, 126, 90, 138, 102, 151, 110, 146 & 86
SC Facts: 6/14 scores over 130, 2/14 scores under 85, the best first year player ever (surely!).
Basically.......I want to make babies with this guy.
Anyway, as brilliant as he's been, we've now got to somehow replace the great Michael Barlow.
Here are my top 10 'Barlow Replacement' candiates, in order:
1. Ablett $613,600 - Ave 136
Pros: Um, it's Ablett, the best SuperCoach player the game has seen. Underpriced, part of a great team and yeah, it's Ablett.
Cons: Have we seen the best of him this year? Are the off-field dramas affecting his on-field performance? Will presumably get rested come round 20.
Run Home (Last 5): Sydney, Collingwood, Western Bulldogs, Carlton & West Coast
2. Chapman $601,800 - Ave 126
Pros: Powerhouse, MP player, plays for Geelong, only 3 scores under 110 this year (106, 107 & 94).
Cons: Injury prone, likely to be rested between rounds 20-22 so you'll need to save a trade and is one of the more expensive options.
Run Home (Last 5): Sydney, Collingwood, Western Bulldogs, Carlton & West Coast
3. Judd $569,500 - Ave 123
Pros: It's Judd; loves contested possessions, 5/11 scores over 120, lowest score of 97, averaging 28 touches per game and you wouldn't think he would get rested before finals.
Cons: Are there any...? Seriously?
Run Home (Last 5): Collingwood, Essendon, Richmond, Geelong & Fremantle
4. Swan $629,900 - Ave 121
Pros: An absolute SC beast! Plays for a team that should finish top 4, proven performer, and probably won't get rested and half of his 14 scores have been over 120.
Cons: See Judd.
Run Home: Carlton, Geelong, Essendon, Adelaide & Hawthorn
5. Montagna $568,100 - Ave 118
Pros: Plays for STK, only Ablett and Swan have had more possessions this year, 2nd for kicks and inside 50s.
Cons: Hard to find any, the guy's only had three scores under 90 this year.
Run Home: Essendon, Port Adelaide, North Melbourne, Richmond & Adelaide.
The rest...
6. Cross/Priddis - flip a coin, both love contested possessions (Priddis 3rd, Cross 6th this year) and both should play the rest of the year.
7. Pendlebury/Selwood - couldn't split these two either, both play for top 4 teams, both drafted in the same year, both have similar ceilings and both will average between 115-120 for the remainder of the year. Should play in rounds 20-22 barring injury.
8. Boyd - Reliable, Durible, plays for a good team, and can score big
9. Murphy - the only reason he not in a 3-way tie for 6th is the fact that his scoring ceiling isn't as high as Pendles/Selwood. Still a great pick, who will give you 105+ most weeks.
10. Bartel/Gibbs - Basically rounding out the top 10. Two quality players, who should score well for the rest of the year.

One thing I will highlight about the kid, is his kick to handball ratio (3.4:1), and he knows where the goals are, kicking 3 from his first two games.Attacking half-back whose damaging foot skills are his greatest asset.
Video of the Week
With the Tour de France starting this week, thought this might be a good one, music's a bit ghey, but I think it kinda suits it:
