Really dissapointing that of 11 Home games, only 4 of them are at the G.

The 2 absolute shockers are Round 9 v Geelong and Round 22 v Hawthorn. Both Friday night games. Both should be at the G.

So I'll try to summarise:

We have 7 prime time games in our first 10 weeks:

1x Thurday Night, 4 x Friday Night, 1x Monday Night + 1st GC game... that is massive exposure... massive win

We play a further 2 firday night games for the rest of the year (with maybe a 3rd in round 24)... win

Our Byes sit very nicely... early mid year and late... win

We only travel 4 times... win

Sydney, Freo, Port, Gold Coast... win

We play Collingwood, Essendon, Richmond twice... win

We play Collingwood, Essendon, Richmond on saturday arvo... my favourite time... win

We play Melbourne, St Kilda and Sydney twice... not the easiest, but won't be the hardest... meh

We play the 2 Grand Finalist twice... plus Sydney as the other finalist... meh

We play Essendon and Richmond from the bottom 4 teams... meh

Overall... I believe we have got a great fixture... full of tests at good times, but nothing too hard... we play alot in Melbourne... and we'll be getting great exposure... we must be one of the big winners from this fixture...

I have pretty mixed feelings about the draw .............. We play Collingwood, Essendon, Richmond, Sydney, Melbourne, St.Kilda twice, so thats x3 of last years top 8 and x3 of the bottom 8 which is pretty fair. That said it is also last years Grand Finalists twice.

For breaks between games, we have x6 6 day turn arounds. We ironically have x2 of the 6 day breaks before playing the Pies , with us coming from the Gabba to play the Pies in rd 3 (not ideal). However the main problem would be in rd 22, coming from Perth (after playing Fremantle) to play the Hawks at Etihad after a 6 day break is pretty crap ............


8 games at the G (hopefully rd 24 will be there too) isn't too badm but we only host 4 of the games (we need a better stadium deal !!!!). I would hope we would be sitting around the 5-2, but more likely 4-3 mark before our first bye.


Should be an interesting year.

Only coming west once is disappointing but maybe pre-season they may visit
