I really cannot understand why Melbourne or Bulldogs would want to Trade one of their 2 top picks for the Mini Draft when there are Kids the same quality or if not better in this draft they are also a year further into there development so you have a better idea what your getting.Bulldogs need to rebuild a team so they need more drafts to build another team, Melbourne are the strange one the last 4 years they have had some very high draft picks and I thought they would be a team which would be competing for a top 4 spot by now but they have gone nowhere and they are losing there top picks after a couple of years, why dont they
draft the best local talent and get a team that wants to play for Melbourne instead of grabbing everything they dont need
Well with everything thats being said it is understood that there isn't kids the same quality and definitely not better. Martin is rated way higher than a Macrae or Wines.

Imagine if Melbourne, Gold Coast and GWS got their first round picks taken away because they were all found out in some draft tampering deal which saw Viney go at 26. Oh wow and then we take Whitfield and Toumpas with 1 and 2 :p PLEASE happen!!! :D

Rob Waters of 10: picks 3 and 13 for Hogan

Crumbs!

Wouldn't surprise me but I would expect #20 to go back to Melbourne.

GWS. #3 and #13

Melbourne. MD2 and #20.

That would give the GWS 5 picks in the top 14 (assuming #13 turns into #14 after the Goddard compensation)

That cant be right why would Melb have to give up more for MD pick 2 than what GC did, Pick 3 should be enough by its self if anything we should get an upgrade on a pick.

Clearly the clubs disagree with you and rate Martin/Hogan as better prospects.

We wont be paying GWS more to get MD pick #2, then GC did to secure pick MD #1.

Journalists making up stuff without even thinking whether its logical or not. I suspect it will be Hogan and an upgrade of one of 'our' later picks for pick 3.

You did in the form of a 2nd rd pick netting a top 10 player ..............

I think Melbourne are after Dawes, so I'd say we'd have floated the idea of pick 20 to Collingwood for Dawes.

We'll get 20 and MD2 for 3 and 13. Leaving us with Hogan, Pick 4 (Wines or Toumpas), Dawes for pick 20 and Viney at pick 26.

I would be, needless to say, pretty damn happy with this (not sold on Dawes regaining his form, but Dawes/Clark/Watts/Hogan isn't a bad group of tall forwards to build around for the next 5 years either).

Viney and Wines join a young midfield of Jones, Trengove, Blease, Howe, Grimes, McKenzie, Gysberts, Tapscott and our defence is already pretty settled. I'd still like us to get at least one or two more decent midfielders (or for Cale Morton to do something, anything really) on the list, preferably via free agency next year.

Because WS told you they won't bid for Viney if you pay massive overs for the Mini draft pick, very dodgy IMO.

Jesse Hogan is the best young KPF in the land. He is a player you build a team around and those sort of players are rare, which is why we're happy to part with pick 3.

That MD deal rumour HAS to be rubbish, and I also wouldn't part with pick 20 for Dawes. He's worth no more than a pick in the high 30's.
