NCAA 2012 NCAA - Week 6

A couple of students doesn't make a trend... Every university usually has a certain number of students in the top 1%... Not everybody can or wants to attend an Ivy League school even if they have the grades to... Using similar logic you could argue Alabama Football isn't light academically because McElroy was shortlisted for a Rhodes Scholarship.

Back to Football, it will be an interesting weekend, at least 3 teams will drop out of the National Title hase this week. Oregon and Bama still pretty big favourites, any body in the SEC amongst the next four (Georgia, Florida, South Carolina and LSU.) that people think could come close.

That 2nd TD by Boise State - That's is the first TD in years of watching football that left me the viewer dumbfounded. Amazing play design.

Heard what he did last week.
Seeing it this week.
Jay Ajayi - Wow. He's a freshman FFS and he is a better runner than last years 1st round draft pick Doug Martin.
Sure, he can't block or catch yet. But as a pure runner. wow.

Also - Linesman aka. official in the Penn State game down injured o_O
Do they have an 8th official to replace them on the field?

Who's offence makes you want to put pins in your eyes more - LSU or the J-E-T-S?

Our season is just about done.

I thought Mettenberger was going to be the salvation but if anything the offense has regressed this season, which didn't seem possible after the championship game.

Martinez is an awesome qb

LSU, Georgia, Texas have bowed out of the race (LSU could still be in it but would have to win out and decisively though) Florida State was a shock but their out too.
The race is down to 8 teams, with Florida playing South Carolina and West Virginia vs Kansas St on October 20th, and Notre Dame hosting Stanford Next week, the list of pretenders and contenders should be become clearer in the next two weeks.

I hope we get Alabama vs USC or Oregon. It's the only matchup that might be any good.
But I for one now expect Alabama vs West Virginia.
Great. Just what we need, another dominant defene destroying a flashy offence.

I doubt Oregon would be much different. Notre Dame is the only true Defensive team outside of the SEC still in contention IMHO.

Oregon do have a defence though that could match it with Alabama's offence.

The only defences though in the country I think are good enough to shutdown an opponent completely if focused would be Notre Dame, Alabama, LSU, FLorida, Michigan State and Boise State.

Too bad 3 of them have no offence to speak of and Florida wont be getting through the whole SEC.

Leaves us with Notre Dame and Alabama as the only good defences with a realistic chance of playing in the BCS National Championship.

USC is balanced enough though that if they win out, then maybe, just maybe they can get through everyone and make it there with a 1 loss record. But with some failings on basic fundlementals, I smell at least 1 more upset on the cards this year knocking them out of the big game.

I think Oregons offense is legitemately good and although admitedly we haven't played any great defences of note yet I'm confident our off will get it done, I think were more than flashy. I feel that we are the best team atm and like DB said we have a decent defense. Unlike WV who have scored highly but also conceded scores highly we have won by big margins from scoring heavily and shutting other teams down. I really like Kiko Alonso on D!
