One of our biggest flaws has been our trading. Common knowedge.

Common knowedge by who?

Do you somehow think we are good traders? Collingwood are what you call good traders. Last year was terrible. I mean a second rounder out the door for Angus Graham. But no doubt Angus is underrated.
Its an area our club needs to improve in. We have been disappointing for along time. For me to bring this up in a trade thread is not out of place.

Okay, the Graham trade you have inaccurately quoted. It was a second round pick for Graham and a third round pick - a pick the AFL took off us as our second round punishment last year. So we received Graham for nothing (which still may be overs, but that's not the point).

What else have they done that you think is disappointing? Trading for Lynch (obvious win, just go ask on the St K board), trading 10 and 16 for Crouch and Brown? Another win. Getting Jenkins by moving a couple of picks? Win. Armstrong and a pick for LJ? Still looks good. Jacobs for a second and fourth round pick?

I think you're completely mistaken - unless you want to fixate on Tambling. That's probably the one loss of the last three years.

Resigned with Collingwood a fortnight ago. Surplus now that we have Betts

Having two quality small forwards is surplus? As a Crows supporter you should understand that a major injury is always just around the corner.

Taken from the Herald Sun:

ADELAIDE
THE Crows secured the early draft pick they desperately wanted when Melbourne parted with pick 23 for Adelaide club champion Bernie Vince. Brenton Sanderson still holds interest in Brisbane Lion Jared Polec, although the only realistic chance to snare him is if the Lions and Power can't strike a deal, which seems unlikely. That would allow Adelaide to swoop in the pre-season draft. Beefed up their forward line with James Podsiadly and Eddie Betts, securing both for nix. The Crows could also lure GWS midfielder Shaun Edwards this week.

DRAFT PICKS: 23, 36, 64

Apologize if it's already been mentioned bit that should be 46.

No one wants McKernan or Mackay, shame. Should have offloaded them both last year when they still had currency.

Nailed it.

It's a symptom of the Neil Craig years. Not ruthless enough at the trade table. "Faith" etc. The only time he was ever semi-ruthless was Mattner... and he went on to play a key role in a flag while Symes played enough AFL to win a Magarey.

Have we ever got a good player from Richmond. We seem to get their rejects while port get the few with any value.

Tambling, and Graham, have to be among the worst players we have brought in through trade in the club's history.

Maybe we need a rule of no ex Richmond players ;-)

Maybe they will send someone decent our way as their list improves.

Ah yes, Torney...he was good value. Long time ago though.

Fisher has confirmed he will not go to GWS.

I really think we will see Luke Thompson traded to GWS for Edwards

Our picks would be worth 0 to them (they wont go the low in the draft) and if they lose Bruce then they will definitely want a ready made tall defender to come in to their squad.

Essendon has recently emerged in the race for Edwards. I have no idea where he will end up but dont think it is certain that he will end up in Adelaide.

I don't think anyone is implying it's a done deal. I would say there's a 50% he stays at the Giants, 35% he comes to Adelaide, 15% chance he goes to Essendon.

At least they have no draft picks either, so we aren't at a disadvantage in that respect in competing with them ;)

If no one wants him maybe this will be the impetus for Smack to mentally pull his finger out and reach his potential...that or a one year contract.

How are people bagging the WC trade? It was actually very smart by them. They are targeting the boy from WA, Dom Sheed very heavily. Only thing is he's probably not worth pick 6 and there is an extremely high chance he will still be there at 11.

They are also targeting Yeo, who Brisbane want a 2nd rounder for. So instead of having pick 6 and no second rounder, they downgraded their pick to 11 and in the process gaining an extra second rounder. Therefore they will most likely still get Sheed, Yeo and still have a 2nd rounder to use.

Like I said its a good move for them. It's a very similar trading strategy that teams use in the NFL, trading to up or downgrade their picks based on where the player they want will go in the draft.

Cool that makes sense. I didn't realise Dom was going that low.

I personally wouldn't have the balls to do it though!
