Be interesting to see what the new manufacturer dynamic brings to the series. It could bring more people to the sport who werent already fans or it could do the opposite. I like the idea personally.

Are you a motor racing fan? I ask because I'm not expecting much from the addition, and if it did I think there would be some members of this site who aren't fans coming onto this board to find out more. As a sample of what may happen "out there".

Yeah I am mate, huge fan but in truth ive lost a bit of interest in the series of late given the total domination of 2 teams circa the early 00s. I guess im more hopeful the changes breathe life into an increasingly dull series.

Yeah well, if you're any indication, maybe if the other makes get in amongst the higher positions, it may bring back some fans who've dropped off on it. I wouldn't be expecting someone who wasn't interested in the first place, to all of a sudden go "Oh yeah! I've got to see this!"

I still watch the races but im not cut up if i miss one unless its one of the big races. Ill silp barrack for the blue oval but hopefully tue new guys go alright. Maybe it wont attract new fans but maybe gain the ones lost 20 years ago

I think more manufacturers makes things more interesting and can open the appeal to more people. I've heard a lot of people complain about the Holden and Ford dinosaurs and how they wouldn't be able to compete with the japs and euros so I think Nissan and Merc in the series can go some way to bridging that gap. Variety is the spice of life you know. :)

Shane van Gisbergen is racing V8 SuperTourers in New Zealand - Speedcafe

Good for Shane though I'd be disappointed if he did rejoin V8's as well as per the "rumours" mentioned in that article. Would be bad form to sign a new 3-year contract and then walk out on the team for personal reasons only to race with a rival instead.

New teams get harsh penalties from the stewards when they think it won't effect performance and satisfy the locals, but will increase publicity. They will get leniency when it could help results.

Alot of money spent fine tuning the red and the blue mobiles, unless the regs for the new cars are to laX, they'll get belted, simply because of their virginity.

or will he ?
He's denied yesterdays story but I think he's only denying it because triple Eight are probably going to have some big announcement just before Clipsal.

It sounds like it will happen if it turns out to be true he will be driving Jamie Whincup's old car Kate.

Check this one out

Took me a little while to figure out where that was. At first I thought it looked familiar in parts but couldn't put it all together until it clicked.

Wouldn't mind seeing the V8SC have a go at WG. Be interesting to see how big the difference around a circuit is to the cup cars.
