I just hope that we take one 'pure' small forward in this draft which would be one of McLean/Lonie/Daniel and maybe smith. I really don't think we have one except maybe Dahlhaus and hes getting pushed further and further away from goal. Think clubs these days are making mistakes not drafting these type of forwards earlier. Different type of player but Tom Rockliff only played as a forward as under 18's and all clubs thinking must have been that he wasn't versatile enough even though experts were screaming that he should have been drafted. Same with Elliot and Bruest. These type of asset forwards can be found in the 30's, 40's and 50's. We should snare one and I wouldn't be upset if we got 2. Bevo will know the importance that small forwards had at Hawthorn (Rioli, Bruset, Puopolo) all 3 of which could be classified as pure small forwards. We need some more ones with speed and class.

My draft philosophy for this year is that we take 4 smalls/medium players (mix of def/mid/for) all with speed and skills and just the one KPP. Rarely are good KPP's found after the first round. Good small forwards/outside mids/rebounding flankers etc can all be found all the time in our draft range (25 - 45). Lets go get em all.

Where does Honeychurch fit in to all that?

Dal should be banned from drafting left footed players lol.
I disagree. :D

Now, if you'd said left footed half back flankers... ;)

He squeezes in there too. I believe that we take at least 1 small forward and have a setup similar to that of Hawthorn. So say a Honeychurch/McLean/Dahlhaus small forward setup + Big forwards of Boyd, Hopefully Reece Mckenzie, Stringer (This is a future setup not 2015 as such).

I just want a pure small forward in our team, its fair to argue that all of our players that we have played as a small forward (Honey/Dahl/Hunter/Hrovat) are either more natural mids or 50/50 forward/mids. I'd like an eddie betts/Jamie elliot/Luke Bruest specialist small forward which can be moulded around 3 legitimate 192cm + tall forwards.

Who is the relief ruckman?

Reece.
Not going to risk Boyd there.

Roughead from Fullback or Reece from the forward line. Thats even if we draft him of course, but we still need another KPF and if hes still at 26 then hes best available and he's around 197 - 198cm so he can give a chop out, plus hes a massive unit. Also depends on where Roughead plays. I think we will all understand better when we finalise our list when the draft finishes.

Prefer rough on the other teams resting Ruckmam or at fullback but he is becoming fit enough to be a forward. So, not sure where Bev sees him fit in.

Talia, Roberts and Morris as our defensive pillars with Oscar McDonald in the wings, Roughie as a roaming CHF and relief ruckman.

I'm not sure if Roughie's got the smarts or the endurance for that role, but I'd have him relief rucking before anyone else. If we draft McKenzie, it's a different story.

I wonder if Twoomey knows we've interviewed Webb or just believes he is a good fit for us

Anyhow, all these players we're getting linked to..really hope that we get most of them :D

Surely McKenzie The Tall won't last till our picks?

Yeah, I wouldn't think so. Just covering all bases seeing as he was mentioned earlier.

None of Landsburger, Quayle, or Tworney really rate him in the top 30 or even top 35. But you'd suggest a team with multiple picks should have a crack inside the top 30. He will either be at the bombers at 20, Saints at 22 or us at 26 you'd think.

Check out his AFL video, some good footage there to

Shit hands inside - doesnt like contact. Did he actually win one loose ball? Won a bit of his own ball from contested marks which is good.
So an outside mid of flanker. Looked OK once he got the ball.

I didn't see from the video how he doesn't like contact

I hope like doggiesftw said, he would be someone available at 39

Webb and McDonald with our first picks would leave me very 'meh'. Don't know much about Webb, though.
