What did he do?
Went along to the TAC Cup final on Sunday. Ahern had it 27 times, mostly contested, used it well and has pace. De Goey never wasted a possession either across half forward and booted 3. He is class. Along with Laverde, would happily have any of them.

Ben Drever,
Iam a Broadbeach supporter, and have watched the progress of Weller especially over the past 2 seasons, and I tell you he is headed for the elite level imo.
Surely we will grab him,, not give him up in the trade process..... Not another Zorko case for f..k sake !
Better than Mav then?

The kid is only 17 and down in Melbourne circles is being touted as being listed in the top 10 of draft list. I cannot compare to his brother Mav at this early stage, but at the moment he is a hot prospect. And his performance in todays GF curtain raiser certainly would of created more in depth interest amongst clubs that are considering drafting him.

Imo Weller doesn't receive as much hype because he doesn't amass massive disposals counts like the other mids but the disposals he does get are usually highly impactful and productive, which is an elite quality imo. Wouldn't be to adversed to us taking him with our 7th pick. Although it might be a slight reach.

We can't give him up in the trade process as we don't have him yet so won't be like Zorko but we may give up the chance for him if we trade one or both of our first two picks. Not keen on using pick #7 on him but pick #14 sounds good.

Fingers crossed the Bulldogs or Carlton nominate Darcy Moore first round and make Collingwood take him at 8. Otherwise they get Moore 2nd round and get a crack at Laverde, Ahern, DeGoey before us. I'd love a 187cm-190cm half forward/mid like DeGoey / Laverde. Both quick and skilful.

Socks don't match his uniform. A player who is not even coordinated enough to colour match his uniform should not be trusted as an integral part of our premiership ambitions

solution - Trade for Lumumba

Lumumba takes offence to that comment.

Jet midfielder....

It could be ambitious of me, but I see him playing more a Gary Ablett Senior type role. He plays well and truly above his weight in contests, has the leap of a grasshopper and is as elusive as they come with the ball in hand.

The Gary Snr that kicked 15 from a wing against Richmond? Or 14.7 out of the square against Essendon?
He'll set scoring assist records either up forward or onball.
A pies fan rang up SEN late last week and suggested Beams for pick 7 and a fringe player like Jack Martin....

Yes, that Gary Snr :p

Obviously with changes to structures, fitness and rules, gone are the days of players kicking 10+ on a regular basis. But he has that type of game about him. Where he can play on the wing and kick a bag while moving forward

Just remember Mav was very highly rated at the same age , and is now a run with player in the worst midfield in the comp . Not saying Lachie will go down that track but the games I saw of him this year I wasn't blown away.

Watching some combine videos. Geez Petracca is a solid unit. Got some monster trunks on him.
