Had him sitting F8 last week or so. Looking like staying for now.Lonie is a bit of a gun.
15 disposals at 93% are pretty good numbers. Would have been nice for him to have won more of the ball but it's pre-season still. Anyone expecting a David Swallow type season of last year out of him is kidding themselves though. The thing that would concern me though is the more Jack Steven has played the less time Newnes has actually been on the ball, he's picking up disposals now however Steven has been benched.Newnes fools gold?

He's not a lock by any stretch of the imagination.Exactly. Are we getting sucked in?
That's what I'm thinking, but could almost be a "forced" pick. I dunno........He's not a lock by any stretch of the imagination.

Well there's no such thing as a "forced pick", if you don't think he's worth it no one is forcing you to pick him. That's what I'm thinking, but could almost be a "forced" pick. I dunno........
Like him as a player but as I said he was relatively unsighted when the Saints midfield brigade was at full strength for this game (Montagna, Steven, Armitage et al.).Surely you jest.............![]()

I agree there isn't much you can take from any of these games outside of rookies really but I'm thinking people think that he is going to be a 95+ player just like that when he probably wont be.Not taking too much from this game to tell you the truth, apart from f***ing injuries.
I mean as not much on offer in that price range.Well there's no such thing as a "forced pick", if you don't think he's worth it no one is forcing you to pick him.

Running around freely. There is no way he'll get as much free time and space when the real stuff begins.Geary abit of a tease so far.
This is so true. The NAB cup is for seeing how the rookies perform as it's the best guide we have to their worth. To allow these glorified practice matches to override what we already know of the established players is suicidal. The only worth they have for established players is to see if they may be taking on a new, more SC friendly role, but even then it's fraught with danger due to the experimental nature of these games.I didn't actually see your post before posting mine, that was just coincidence
They will a bit. Not much at all though. Every year, 90% of the NAB challenge guns end up being bad SC options for the year. People get sucked in way too easily.
