@BrettAndersonIF: Some Saturday #TradeSENtral musings: WB and STK interested in Port's Aaron Young. If Aish leaves BL, Hawthorn are firming as favorites.

Apologies if I'm going full Sandra sully and someone already posted the tweet!
You are Sandra.

But the issue remains, I don't get this one at ALL.

Well that's left me in a state of meh. Hawks get my man and we show interest in a GOP - mind you my Port supporting mates rate Young. Hopefully this is just Hughes just doing to due diligence with every single player again.

Rate him for what exactly?

He's a good height, strong body, aggressive and tough... All seems good... But he's a rough kick...

To be fair, most of my discussion with these guys are dream team related, so his kick isn't relevant (for those discussions).

But I do agree with you, I'm not a fan at all - we can't afford to bring in more GOPs with avg kicks.

FFS.... I will be livid if we recruit O'Meara at this stage of the rebuild, just ******* livid

Just my two cents on the JOM debate from earlier. I disagree with the blanket no response. The way I see it is if he doesn't come to us it's either because a) he doesn't want to or b) because Dr Barbour, Andrew Wallis et al don't think his knee is sound. However, if he does end up at the Saints the medical staff must be confident that he can get on the park and perform. Of course that doesn't mean it is without risk. JOM is a bona fide superstar in the making. We will also have another 12 months of information before going down that path. I'm excited that we are at least (reportedly) sniffing around.

never heard of him. what type of player is he?
"A midfielder who will become a makeshift forward or defender when his coach needs to plug a hole. Is an outstanding mark for his size and very athletic" is how he was described in his draft year, and that's about right. Iffy kick.

Think a better Shenton, with dumber hair.

hmmm i'm with you barrels. i dont get it at all

What a load of crap. The club spent a hell of a lot more time rating those players than you have so I'll trust their judgement over yours.

Really like Acres & Mckenzie myself , better still the way saints are developing them slow & steady.

Here's our top 20 according to Quayle:
1 - Paddy
2 - Petracca
3 - Brayshaw
4 - Wright
5 - Laverde
6 - De Goey
7 - Weller
8 - Langford
9 - Moore (9th place as per the Pies pick)
10 - Duggan
11 - Cockatoo
12 - Garlett.
13 - Goddard
14 - Lever
15 - McKenzie
16- Miller
17 - Ellis
18 - Heeney (Swans pick)
19 - Marchbank
20 - Lonie
Boekhorst wasn't in our top 50.
I wonder where Heeney would have been rated if he wasn't an academy player.

1 on talent

Doubt we would have taken him at 1 though when we were after a key forward primarily (despite the club suggesting we would BPA) and their were 2 perfectly good Victorian midfielders.

The guys on grandstand were saying they believed a pick 7 to 10 was about right. I've always said he's about 8-10. 15 would be ideal for you but is unders in my opinion.

Sorry.

We won't settle for any less than pick 5 and Billings. May even throw Goddard in to join BJ.

Good day.

I agree its slightly unders but even though I also believe the players wont get a huge penalty if found guilty of doping the WADA thing does slightly make the draft pick a little lower IMO. Also I did say 10 to 15 but it matters little anyway because I don't know how we can get that pick.

Reckon trade time is going to be fascinating (if the lead up is anything to go by), would love the Saints to pick up both Freeman and Carlsile but reckon there is going to be a lot of dealing to get it done. Bottom line the player needs to want to come to the Saints, if that is the case it will happen

Exactly and that is why we can mark Freeman down as a Sainter next year. Need Carlisle to say the same.

Unfortunately a large part of trade value is determined by what the nominated club has to offer in return for the player. You just better hope Carlisle doesn't nominate Carlton.
